I too have had issues with this individual. Fortunately, not as many as cat. I purchased a simple JWT Porcharger and heatshield (wanted the Z-tube, but not in stock) for my G35 Coupe. I picked up the filter and heatshield, happily went to the house to install only to discover I had the 350Z heatshield. I immediately called Dave and requested the correct shield (also, not in stock). This purchased occured almost two weeks ago and still no heatshield.
I have been offered the same "reason" for delay. My wife is in Chemo and it takes all my time.

For his personal tragedy, I offer my condolences and prayers. The issue is the complete lack of professional communication to insure that customers become repeat customer.

When I get my heatshield, I will of course NEVER do business with this gentlman again.

milanista... your comments are completely offensive. I am a native Texan ( I have never lived in a trailer) and assure you that David is not toothless, yet.

Cat, I wish you and your husband good luck on getting your Z repaired.

I'm sorry you have had trouble with Dave as well, there have been many people who spoke throughout this thread telling their issues as well...

I have talked to Dave 2 times this week (through PM). I haven't even tried to call because well, you figure it out. Plus, Dave said now he will take care of it, so it is up to him to now contact me about what we are going to do. Unless too much time goes by, I will then call him and tell him that the only way to resolve this is to give me my money back. We are still working on setting a meeting up to get this resolved. He suggested that I meet with a new painter ( he supposedly does all of Gothamracing.com work) to meet him and see if I will accept him. I am willing to try but if I am not 100% sure I just won't go this route. I am a little weary now of going to another shop that Dave reccomends, but we will see as I just want it fixed somehow someway! I am trying to get a meeting this weekend as I am now in school and have a job so there is no way I could go down to Texas for a day and miss those activities since if I miss class my coach will run my @ss and if I miss my job well I just can't considering I am the coach of a middle school softball team and I can't have someone just "replace" me for a day of games...

I am hoping for the best and will definitely let everyone know the outcome of my situation!

cat:

I've been around for a while.

Dave Stoner has dropped the ball in taking care of your problems and apparently other people have been in your shoes as well.

While his personal problems are unfortunate, business is business and your car is most important to you. You have given him consideration above and beyond what is reasonable.

If I were you, get a refund for what you are owed and get it taken care of yourself without him being a middleman. It's obvious to me that Dave should have never taken on your kind of business with what is going on in his life.

Good Luck.

I'm gonna have to totally agree with you on this. This is what I really need to do because I just have to many questions and doubts about the intentions of whoever Dave takes me to to get the car fixed. Plus, I just don't want the car to be in Texas when I am in Oklahoma. On top of that, like you mentioned for him to again be the middleman isn't a good idea, because he just has no time to do such a task.

Thanks again for that, I have to totally agree with you on it. I guess I was just getting to the point of desperation and was willing to try and get it fixed however possible, but by doing that, it just sets me up in a bad situation...

After spending an hour reading all 13 pages of this thread I for one will say I think you were totally correct in posting on this forum, and not being immature. If you hadn't it is possible nothing would have happend, and you could still be trying to contact Dave. I dont think you were attacking Dave at all, except that you are saying the way things are being done are unprofessional, and I for one, agree with you.

Thi is a pm Dave sent me, and I sent back with my responses to what he originally wrote.. I sent this back today (9/3/04) so he hasn't responded back yet.

350Zforums wrote on 08-31-2004 09:07 AM:
Per my conversation with Chris,

(Dave)This guy has been warned about not doing enough work for the buck. He is excited about the challenge of fixing someone elses work. HE is also helping me get the paint reviewed to prove that is a mixing error not the 3M clear bra that did this. That is my attempt to make Ayala's give me some kind of refund they have refused thus far.

<<< (Cat's response)I have had several people look at it and tell me it is the paint. BUT they also said that the clear bra should have not been put on so soon. Atleast wait a few months....>>>

(Dave)Chris and I agreed the car will be reviewed at the paint shop and simply will not leave until it is ok'd by yourself.

<<<(Cat's response)That's fine>>>

(Dave)Vizage said parts were mailed out and I am waiting for them now.
Wing is in your possession because after talking with other people Mike simply does not have the talent to make the wing fit like it does...there is nothing wrong with it apparently.

<<<(Cat's response) this rubs me the wrong way. I originally let you do this because you said you knew a guy that could do it perfect, which is what I wanted, yet now Mike can't even put on a wing? How do we know for sure there is nothing wrong with the wing? I just can't believe that you took my car to Mike who can't even make the wing fit.>>>

( Dave)Overall, He will fix the problems that we need ot resolve this and if you want it painted to the next level that was not covered originally, we might need to discuss some for of additional payment. I mean this by if you want extensive work done on the Front end before paint that I didnt ever get billed for etc.

<<<( cat's response)pay extra to make the kit fit right? no way Dave, I payed for that the first time. I asked for it to be perfect, I gave you no spending limit why should I pay for this again!? If I have it molded or rolled into the car with fiberglass that is additional costs, not making it fit right or paint it perfect. That is what the agreement was the first time!>>>

( Dave)That can all be handled at the meeting of course and not my phone or email.

I'll talk to Martin today about a weekend meeting.

Thank you again,
David
