General question (point me in the right direction?)
So here I am with my 4 year old Subaru Impreza RS. At 105K miles, I am thinking it is time to buy a new car. I can go to NASIOC.com for opinions and thought about the Subarus I may be interested in, but all they can do is tell me to get the Legacy GT over the 350Z because they are biased like that.
I know you people will be biased the other way, so let me start by saying that I would love to have some objective info about the car.
When you bought your car, what other cars did you look at? WHat meade you decide on the 350Z over the others? Are there major know problems with the 350 that I should know about (like Subaru's notoriously weak transmission that is made out of glass)?
I do very little racing (only auto-x 2-3 times a year) and just wat somthing fun/enjoyable to drive and work on.
Just looking for some thoughts from the other side.
For comparison, I am considering getting either a 350Z, Legacy GT (the new 2.5L turbo model) or a WRX sedan. I kind of miss having a 2 door sports car (my last car was a 99 Prelude) so the 350 has a lot of my attention right now.
Thanks for the help.

Well, for me to decide on a 350Z was because I wanted to up grade my Mustang GT with a sporty car. Why I choose the 350Z because it was the best sport car in it price class. I looking at Crossfire's, and RX-8s and they weren't the car for me. I really can't compare the 2 seater to 4 seater sport machines. In other word I wouldn't be looking at both kind of cars to pick from since they are total different. You are looking for a big change from Subaru to a 350Z.
As for problem just read the board and you will see some major and minor problems.
And another thing coming to a 350Z forums you will see most people are going to tell you to get the 350Z!

I am well aware that you people (350Z owners) will tel me to get the Z...
But I want to know why.
I just read through the post stickied about the tire wear... wow... that is enough to push me away from the Z... The idea of a car "losing" its alignment over time is not cool... I have never had alingment issues in previous cars... if they would actually FIX the problem, that would be cool... but it sounds like NNA is just like SOA (transmission problems). It took SOA 6 years to admit they had a clutch/flywheel problem which resulted in a rough engagement of the clutch... enough to SHAKE the hood of the car like wheel hop...
Keep em coming... I love AWD and the Subaru I have, but there are little annoyances that come with it. I came from a 91 Integra to a 94 Integra to a 99 Prelude to my 01 Impreza... te Hondas just had better build quality... I would get an S2000, but at 6'5" there is no chance in hell of fitting in that thing... the reason I origially liked liked the Z... more headroom...

Yes, I have heard of the problems with the 350Z. Since Nissan sells almost 30,000 Zs a year it doesn't mean that you car will come with all these problems. Some people have them others don't. Like a lot of cars in there first 2 or 3 years production come with problem until they are fix. After all if you are talking a new car they come with warranty.
Test drive both cars and make up your mind then.
