Talking Oops!

I was on a local expressway and practicing my launches tonight. A Chrome Silver 350Z pulls up next to me just as I'm about to launch, so I launch anyway, but take notice of the other Z. At the next light, I look over to say "hi", and there's this girl in the passenger seat lookin' over. I can't figure out the look, so I figure I'd go back to practicing. So I rev my engine up, and decide to turn off VDC. Well I think I must've stepped just a little too hard or something, because by the time the light turned, not only was my tach at 3000-3500rpm, but the other Z was revving too. So the light turns, and I step on it. Now, as most of you know, 3000-3500rpm is a little above optimum launch revs.

So I spend 1-2 seconds just spinning my rear wheels before I even take off. Oops! I nearly died laughing at myself. Thought I'd share.

racetracks are another good place to practice launches. less interference and no worries of hitting anyone or anything

Yeah, it was late enough at night and clear enough that I thought it'd be okay to "practice"; I usually let off by the time I get to 50mph, which is the speed limit on this expressway. Good reminder though, guys.
