Should have been rectangle (similar shape to the grill) with a mesh insert.

yup i saw that hole on one of the modded cars in a video i saw of three modded Z's going at it on a race track... initially i was like WTF!! looks totally fugly IMO... although i like the little triangular hole in the other pic ..

Should be spruced up somehow. One of the RX7 guys at a local track meet had one cut out in the shape of a Rotary engine - pretty clever...
