If the police proceed to detain, search, or arrest you despite your wishes—do not physically resist. You may state clearly but non-confrontationally: “Officer, I am not resisting arrest and I do not consent to any searches.” Or you may assert your rights by simply saying nothing until you can speak with an attorney. This is a good one. One of my friends' girlfriend resisted arrest then when she was detained and about to get put in her cell, she assaulted the officer. In Texas, that carries a $20k bail. On top of this she's a repeat offender. Everybody hopes she serves time.

Ever wonder why you got the ticket? Maybe cause you did something wrong? Maybe cause you disobey the law you might of put someone at risk? Ever wonder what might of happen if the officer never stop you and you kept breaking the law and eventually injure yourself or others?

You can take all the risk you want, I'm all for it, but when you include others into your risk than I have a problem with it.

In a perfect world this thread would make sense. But I am afraid most cops in the inner city areas would find amusement in you stating your rights..then they would pull some crazy law out of their a$$ to arrest you for the search you AND your car incident to arrest, impound it for "safe keeping" , do an inventory of the contents of the vehicle, including the trunk. Anything illegal found during an "INVENTORY" search can and will be used against you, hey its not the cops fault he was placing your items in your trunk when he noticed the kilo of coke and the sawed off shotgun...

Also police can search a vehicle for paperwork to the vehicle if you are not the registered owner.
Not to mention half a dozen things they can articulate with some exagerations to get into your car..Bottom line is if a cop wants in he will find a way in, trust me...
And if your not a criminal you should have no problem consenting to a search to begin with..The 4th ammendment protects the guilty, remember that...Why is it that the only people that cry about being illegally searched, had something to hide in the first place??

as far as not giving an officer your name when he askes...Sure in a perfect world...Try telling that to a NY city cop then find out how he arrest you for "obstructing a govermental function" after he asked you your name to issue you a city ordinance for littering or "J" walking..
Its called creativity...All the liberal laws in place to protect the criminals more than the good citizens, can be loop-holed by an experienced an creative officer..trust me..

Inner city cops are more like Thugs, I did a ride-a-longs in South side Chicago, those guys don't *** around! In a way they have to cause of the demographics but its just a vicious circle.

If the citizens really know their laws by heart its alot harder for cops to get "creative." But you're right, if a cop REALLY wants to get in, he'll find a way. Just fight it in court, thats why its there.

I really think schools should offer a class where they would teach you your basic laws like the ones we've talking about. Its all about check and balance.

Default GREAT POSTING!

and never admit ti a "sip of beer" or Just 1 when asked if you had a drink. that also is admission of gilt. It is then the officers duty to find how big of a sip and if your 1 drink was 1 bottle of wiskey.

Theres many reason for city ordances like that.

1. If you don't keep up with your house maintence, your property value and those of your neighbors decreases, thus effecting others.

2. More Importantly, its call the "Broken Window Theory". If you have a broken window and if its not fix, next thing you know you have two broken window and as time goes on, the problem will only get worse and drug dealers start moving into this type of neighborhood. Its really important that you take care of your neighborhood simply for the reason that "criminals" look for run down neighborhood to operate out of.
