This old guy in an Acura on the left started drifting into my lane without looking, I stood on the brake, pull sharp towards right, and laid on the horn. His reaction time is definitely not top notch, may be not even bottom notch. Luckily he missed by a hair.

That was the first time I use the horn on the ZR since new. After all the excitement, I was thinking that the horn sounded really soft compare to all my other cars, and I even had my top and windows down at the time. Do you guys find the same? Any suggestions for quick and easy fix?

 

The Z horn sounds like sh*t. I think the Geo Metro has a more "in your face" horn. I would go to your local Honda dealer and pick up a Honda S2000 horn, that thing sounds like "get the fu*k out of my way". I wish Nissan did a better job with that.

 

I know that there is a Z sport horn that is sold in every dealership I visited. Have not heard that, but it might be the solution to this problem.

 

I agree, the horn on the Z sucks. Sometimes I don't think the old people can hear it (no offense to any old people... I was referring to the old people who can't drive worth peanutts.)

 

Is there anyway we can get a sound clip of the Z sports horn thats sold after market. I was thinking about getting it, but I dont even know what it sounds like

 

When I saw a name of the thread I already knew what's gonna be inside. I don't know how the horn really sounds but I am sure it's loud enough for people to hear. I just think that the guy who cut you off just didn't give a shi.t. People like that on the road drive me nuts but then again you can't put your head on anybody's shoulders. Good thing nothing happed beyond you getting scarred.

i never had any problems with the stock horn. but then again the horn in my previous car sucked

 

try rolling down your window then blasting the horn. big difference

 

Hella makes some loud horns.
