Default How's this deal?

I went to a Nissan dealership and these are the numbers they gave me...

2003 Nissan 350Z Enthusiast Model

$28,249
$540 Destination and Handling
$864.24 VA Tax
$28.58 City Tax
$38.50 Tags
-$200.00 Discount

Total: $29,739.32 Out the Door

*2-3 Month waiting period

How do these numbers compare to the deals you guys have received?

If I wait till the summer after the hype has calmed down would I be able to get a better deal?

I preordered my car in 2/11 and received it 9/6. I paid MSRP and $299 P.D.I. The car was perfect after their prep, so I made them take off $100 and took the car.

$28,249 is MSRP; $540 Destination, you always pay that, no dealer will discount it. Taxes aren't negotiable. $200 off is $200 under MSRP. That is less than most of us paid. You didn't mention options; are you getting any? Have you visited NissanDriven.com to design your car with options? What's wrong with the car?

The hype? is advertising and all the favorable reviews from sports car magazines and the fact that you can get Porsche Boxster S performance FOR $25K LESS than what that car costs. Are you saying you think you should get more money off in the summer?

If you answer yes, I must tell you the Z is worth every penny at MSRP and you are getting a great deal if, the car is new with less than 100 miles on it, and your quotes are real and not imagined. Frankly, people post all kinds of lies and general bs on this site. Also, several members of this forum, for reasons I won't mention are still waiting for the car they ordered in January or feb. or march.

You have one in your hand and you are asking if you should wait till the summer for the hype to settle down. Sure, wait until the summer if you think you can get a better deal than we got.

You'll have to forgive me, but I have a lot of friends on this forum still waiting for their cars and I am fresh out of advice.

i forgot to add the 229 processing fee.

btw...with the release of the 350Z convertible, would that possibley effect the price as well?

Dont get me wrong, I have the money and I am in no rush to purchase this car. This is hard earned cash I want to make sure I get the best deal possible.

MSRP is always good, search for a dealer that ordered phantom presales, and is now selling them off the lot. I did that and worked great.

otherwise, may I reccomend kick plates and mats, both have a great appearance for the car.

Sorry about my testiness, import-depot. I am disappointed that so many of the preorders still haven't been delivered. No reason to take it out on you. I think the enthusiast is the best buy of all 5 models because it has a lot of the goodies for a couple of grand more. If you decide you want leather, it can be retro-fitted by Nissan. You have found a very good deal on the Enthusiast you described. But, are you sure that is the only model for you?

I have aTouring w/leather and AT. I love it and after 37 years of MTs, the automanual is a hoot to drive, its more fun than all my MTs. So, you do have a lot of choices. If you don't take the Enthusiast you are looking at, pls post its location here so our members can have a shot at it.

I love mine at MSRP! Worth the cost FOR SURE.

Next years models will probably have a little more horsepower and a little higher cost.

Get yours now when you can!
