Default Exhaust controller?

Anyone know what the point of this is? Why would you want to close your exhaust pipes up?

According to the description, it's acts as a silencer that you can activate remotely. Might create some backpressure too...

It is called a "dump". What it does is allow you to bypass your muffler all together, and basically run straight headers. You weld it before the muffler, or anywhere and by remote, control the opening (how loud you want your car to be.)

Or you can buy the 75 dollar piece that uses wing nuts, and you open it manually.
