Question Break in period

Hi Guys & Gals,
Just picked up my 2004 Perfomance Daytona Blue on Friday. Haven't had enough time to drive it though. Main question is on breaking it in, dealer didn't list any restrictions, are there any? Also how long do you wait to wax the car if at all. Lastly, Ive been reviewing the threads, know I need to get a bra to avoid the paint chips. I'm in Sacramento, like the idea of the clear bra but don't know of any dealers up this way. Any ideas?

your owner's manual should have the recommended breakin guidlines....i believe it's something like rpm under 4k for 1200 miles, no constant rpm, and some other stuff.
about the clear bra...u can order it online and install yourself. don't know any places in norcal that does it, but there are places down south...kinda expensive though.

I keep reading many different numbers, but most people say 1200 miles.

I'm sure someone will post the manual pages since this thread comes up so much. Here are the basics:

Wait 1200 miles
Keep it below 3000 RPM
No trailoring (I would suggest never doing this)
No extended highway driving at the same RPM
No full throttle

Thanks much for the info, I did read the manual finally and it does confirm what you said so I have been taking it easy and varying the speed on the freeway. Im anxious to get that 1200 miles out of the way. Looks like you have a Daytona Blue too. I think its the best color they make for this car. I love this car, it is sooo much fun to drive.
