At the testdrives, the keys I were given were all black. Are the valet keys all black or something? I was disappointed that they didn't even have a nicer emblem.. But from this, am I right to conclude that the keys I saw were only valet keys?

As everyone is telling it the silver "ness" started in '04. If you were testdriving an '04 and the key was black it was the valet key. When you think about it using the valet key for testdrives is the best idea. When they gave me the 2 main keys they were in sealed plastic baggies. So yes, you can assume that was the valet key.

valet keys are read.

My dealer cuts keys - I feel like Nissan only delivers the Z with 1 key and the rest need to be cut/programmed.

What? No way...that'd be insane. When the dealer gets a truck full of cars they have to cut a buncha keys for 'em all? I don't believe that. I know they can make more keys if nessecary(sic.) but they gotta come with the 3 from the factory.

For my G35 .. It comes with this leather case that actually has a foam piece with cut outs for the keys and the nice key chains they give you, so I don't think this is true.

Sorry, I don't know where to get these in the US. I bought mine in Japan at the Nissan Ginza showcase. I should be back in Japan in March next year, but I don't know if they will still be selling these.

Get a cheap jacket at walmart, rip off the zipper tab, and etch a Z on it. Same difference...

Heuge, maybe you can back me up on this but it's about the size of the door handle, correct?

Taurran, look at Heuge's attachment for a size reference.

Whoa, the keychain is really pretty small, nowhere near the size of a door handle. (Thinking of girlfriend asking, "Are you really happy to see me, or is that a door handle in your pocket?"), but I really liked it since only 350Z guys would "get-it" about the three dots setup.

Pricing at the time was about 110 yen per 1 USD, so the keychain was about $35. I thought that it was pretty expensive when I was there, but I should have bought them out and sold them in the US. I could have paid for my entire trip. I had an entire section of pictures from Japan in the my350z.com gallery, but I guess they were all purged by Vic likely due to storage requirements.
