Nothing that lasted more than 6 months or so..I thought I was going to have serious issues with my right hand but, PT did it!

I am a little more wiser for the wear if anything else. I have driven dirt bikes, cars, etc for quite a long time..every now and then if you push it too much, you will get burned.

lessons learned, I am just glad I didn't loose more than some skin and bone.

My bet is yes. I have tracked over the years with a lot of F-body's and they do quite well, contrary to what the ricers would have you think. Good handling and driver perception of good handling are often two different things.

As for the pictures posted earlier of a wrecked WS6, that was completely driver error and inexperience -- and frankly I believe that anyone dumb enough to drive like that on public roads deserves what's coming, even if it happens to be that.

Go to the track, hire an instructor, learn how to drive -- and please don't tell me "I've been driving for (X) years and I know how to drive" -- no, you don't. Get some training, drive like that on roadcourses not streets with deer, cars, kids, me.

Don't know if you've seen these, but they were posted way back in the days when just seeing one in person was a big deal to me. Zgirl almost passed out when we pulled into the parking lot at NNA.

Steve - your talking out of your ***

Will the f- bodies hang with the Z in the twisties?
No, they won't contrary to what SteveO might say. In fact, they will NOT hang with any car designed specifically for that purpose.

Although I feel the Z handles better then an F-body, it doesn't handle that much better to kick it's *** through some corners. A great driver in an F-body will kick the crap out of an average or even good driver in a Z. At the end of the day, although the Z might be better in the corners, it's not leaps and bounds ahead of the F-bodys. Given the extra HP of the f-bodies and more importantly the torque, although they give up some weight, around a race track they both will be close in stock form.

Steve - your talking out of your ***.
No, I am talking from years of experience at road courses in various cars of various classes.

Will the f- bodies hang with the Z in the twisties?
No, they won't contrary to what SteveO might say. In fact, they will NOT hang with any car designed specifically for that purpose.
Unknown as to what a car designed specifically for the twisties is (outside perhaps of an ITR) but as for road course classifications the LS1 SS's are classed in a faster class and run quicker lap times than other "track oriented" cars like the Honda S2000, BMW M coupe, Porsche 944 etc. Moreover, if I was to design a car specifically for the track, as you claim Nissan has done, I would never make it weigh 3200 pouds plus. That goes against the very principle of a track car which is meant to be light and well balanced (ITR).

Furthermore the auto-x classifications (although not final) show the LS1 SS's running in the same class as the Z -- and the older C4 corvettes in a faster class. I guess the SCCA does not agree with your hypothesis on two accounts, both on the road courses and at the auto-x's.

Again, driver perception of handling and actual handling capability are often two different things. Clearly you have very little experience in regards to high performance driving and therefore can't really understand this concept.

tbcz -

I wasn't looking to start a pissing contest. Nope, not me. I have simply stated that I have owned both and what my experiences were.

Steve doesn't have a car to start pissing over or, not one that he mentioned anyway.

I miss that car alot. It would be nice to have around but, I am quite happy with the Z.

I am kind of hung up on 2 seaters now. Maybe sometime in the future a Viper would be interesting.

I hear ya. The WS6 is a garage queen. She does not get driven a whole lot. It's one of 232 built and the last year they made them so your almost scared to drive it. She's our Valentine baby. We don't have a break down of how rare it actually is because they did not keep good records. Sorry about your loss. ~ Michelle
