Default Omg - This Z Is Fast!

Two things happened which has convinced me that if you add an SC on this - it might be down right dangerous (probably in traffic tickets and bail money for breaking the sound barrier).

First, I passed the 1200 mile mark and wanted to find out exactly what it will do. I have gone up to 5K RPM before but for just a split second..today, I let it GO. I was on I35 very early this AM - no traffic at all really and on a stretch where it would be difficult to setup a speed trap. I slowed down to about 30MPH and then just hit it.>>>>>>>>>GONE>>>>>>! I could not believe how quickly 100+ came along! I am totally blown away.

Then, this afternoon I am coming back and just crusing in the middle lane - listening to some tunes - damn this BOSE sucks right now without the fix. I was lucky enough to look over in the left lane a couple seconds before and noticed alot of cars and then to my right was a good size rig carrying Cisco foods. Behind me was some guy riding my bumper trying to get a good look at the car. He was in a green Eclipse (which actually looked pretty nice, it had chrome around the front..nicely done). Next thing I know Cisco King decides he wants my lane and is just coming over slowly but, nonetheless, coming over. I dropped the car from 6th to 4th and punched it..>>>>>GONE>>>!

I used to have a 01 WS6 and it felt exactly like that.

V6 - unreal. totally unreal.

this was an exciting day - if you find it boring, I guess you just needed to be there

WS6 - Trans AM, aka "The Muscle Car" LS-1 V8 with a Ram Air intake

Better believe I owned one - got the scars and pics (somewhere in my old .pst file) to prove it! High speed failure is the term. My WS6 was bone stock and from 30 MPH forward to around 80 the Z "felt" like it to me. "Felt" means subjective but nevertheless after driving around for the last month+ under 4K RPM..it sure performed like one serious ride at 5K-6K

Felt tighter on the road as well.

Hey 98GT, which 'Z' model did you get?

Have you ever driven a Z? Are you even going to own a Z? If not, why are you here?

98gt, you have one played out car and you are in a forum in which no one will ever give you props for owning a gt mustang, especially an old as 1998 (worth less than 10K now). So, do yourself a favor and please take the fact that you own one off your signature. Don't you have anything beter to do (like go online and buy more parts that 40 million people have already bought for their 98 gt's) than try to talk to people that like the 350z???

I'll give him props for owning a mustang, I happen to like them. and as far as his statement goes I've driven quite a few WS6s and the Z doesn't pull anywhere close from a rolling start, not even close.

Reality sucks but it's true, the WS6 is faster then a 350Z. Oh well, I'm quite happy being slower in the Z.

I would say I regret even mentioning my WS6 in the post. But I don't. I owned one, drove the hell out of it and eventually it was totaled.

It comes down to preference and opinion - no matter what a dyno shows.

-Faster than my Z, yes it was.
-So much so that it wasn't even close in terms of pull or sense of acceleration NO. Not correct
-WS6 performed very well in a tight high speed turn - NO, TRUST ME

Default 98gt281 = TROLL

Everybody just ignore 98gt281.

He's just a TROLL who's hopping from thread to thread with his very ininteresting Rustang anecdotes picking fights.

PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE TROLL!

Default what happened

So it was about 1AM on a long stretch of a 4 lane highway. Totally deserted. Went ahead and opened it up - somewhere around 115+

Near the end of the highway is a left curve which divides the highway from 4 lane into 2. Downshifted and started into the curve, about halfway through the turn next thing I know the *** starts to swim/drift to the right. Half a second later the wheels grabbed and catapulted me straight into a concrete divider at about 70MPH - head on.

Everything exploded and next thing I know I am waking up with glass and stuff in my mouth. Yep, that's blood - all over..sorry about that, didn't pay attention when I posted the pics.

The feel between these two cars WS6 vs. Z is no comparison. The Z is meant to take high velocity turns..I would submit the F bodies DO NOT handle these well..center of gravity, etc..OR, I had some type of rear-end failure but could determine really post wreck.
