Default Insurance costs (not this thread again?)!

32 YRS, with a TSX and FX45, the Z is costing me $900 for 6 months (with the wife on the policy - no choice on that one). That includes $500 deductible and glass/theft. Geico.

I'm moving to NJ. All of the cars should drop 30-40%.

The Z is cheaper than the TSX actually ($1100 for the TSX). Weird.

My 2002 Q45 was the cheapest of them all, $800 for 6 months. And that was a $62,000 car.

Well just think if you had a sportbike you would think those prices are cheap....I have Allstate and am 30 with a 2000 escape witch is 550 for 6 months and the G35 is 878 for 6 months just what it costs to have fun rides....My 2004 GSXR-1000 would have bin 3800 yes that is 3800 a year if I had to have full coverage on her....Thank god I own it outright and don't need comprehensive ins......

Hey Sully, I didn't know you were 22. And what the hell is up with your insurance? What's your SPID?

I'm running $1,800/year for full coverage, $300 deductibles, with "principal garaging" in central Boston and I just turned 23.

Have you thought about going with Commerce Insurance? And a AAA discount of 5%?

Here's a way to save $$. If your collision is a $300 deductible, change it to $1,000 and you'll most likely save $1,000 a year. Makes no sense that agreeing to pay $700 more would give you a $1,000 less premium, but that's what they do in MA. BTW, when you turn 23, your rates should drop 25-35%.

i go through progressive, i'm 22 and pay 156 per month, i do have a 1000 deductable though. i figure with the savings each month its worth it.

i also have an sr-22 which didn't raise my rates at all.

stl350, besides the 1000 deductible what else did you do to get such a good deal on insurance? I'm also a 22 male and so far the best quote ive seen is from state farm at $284/month!

Fortunately for me, i dont pay insurance on the Z yet. I'm 22 and just started my first actual job and instead of paying insurance yet my dad said i could pay off the college loan first. I know, i'm very lucky. I used to have a bike though and our insurance company, USAA has very good bike rates. Listed as a pleasure vehicle It was less than 400 a year. Thats right, 400 a year. The place the sold me the motorcycle wouldn't believe it. it was a 2001 gsx-r 600. I think the Z would be around 1000 or maybe a little more or so every 6 months for me because i used to have a stealth and that was about 850.

How did you get it that low? Are there other cars on the policy or any other drivers? What did you tell them, you would only drive it 1 mile a week on the weekend.
