Default 0-60mph times ..

Hi,

How fast is the stock Z (or modified - please list mods though), 0-60 ? Not the magazine times, but normal driver times (all you guys).

Also, does anyone know how fast it is after getting a twin turbo kit ?

Thank you.

Asking "how fast it is after getting a twin turbo kit" is liking asking "how long is a string" - it depends on a lot of things.

As jor888 hinted, Search Search Search. It's all out there.

5.6 is a good number to shoot for. 0-60 has to be the most driver dependent stat. so you could not ever break 7sec if you cant launch, or hit 5.4 if your very good.

turbo. who knows.

4.9 highly modded and stillen stage 3 SC compared to a stock 5.3, is it worth spending 10k+ for .4 seconds? I saw some guy on cardomain.com that got a 3.8 seconds, and his car was also SC.

Um...0-60 is not everything. Most FI afftects the 1/4 mile much more.

0-60 has more to do with traction and deliviring the power you have. A stock Z with slicks can run a 4.9!
I think you have alot to learn about cars still.

You may want to start on a "younger" forum and work your way up here

changing drive ratios helps alot. those machines are pretty accurate. in many cases the most accurate method there is. I bet some mags use them for official purposes.0-60 isnt something you see much, cause no track tells you that, only GPS, radar, or one of those gadgets does it.

a sc Z should be better than 4.9 but it depends on conditions and whatnot.

Never claimed to be. But to solely focus on a stat like 0-60 seems like such an incomplete thing to do. I guess I could have worded it better....sorry about that much.

Also a search may really help you on this one. Again we were all newbies once.....but this is not just a newbie question...it is a complete newbie mindset.

Changing your drive ratio involves removing the differential from your car, removing the factory gears from it and then replacing them with the new gears. It should cost about $400-$600 for install plus the $895 for the gear. So between $1295-$1495.

It should improve acceleration by about 10%. I picked up about 2 miles per hour in the 1/4 mile trap speed and knocked about .2-.3 tenths off of my 0-60 time.
