I dont think Nissan has developed one, and R&D is expensive.
nissan doesnt make their auto style transmissions anyway. Aisin AW does along with another company. So they wouldnt be developing anythign really, they could simply adapt the set up that Aisin puts in the lexus is300 for example.

We are all excited about the developement of teh next generation "Z". I think we all need to remember what it is about our beloved Z cars that keep us coming back for more..... Innovative body design, good engine platform, and reasonable performance for the price. We also have a long automotive heritage and good aftermarket support. For the next model I think the most important criteria should be:

Price: base model priced @ $25K......
top of the line model @ $35
Engine: 320 hp base model , with 350+hp high end model and
N/A and Turbo models
Body styles: a coupe, convertible AND Targa/ T top

Nissan has almost always used the same engine in all their models. Recently they started offereing engine options. I think Nissan should stick with engine sharing. Some people dont want all the frills but still want the beast

let me see if i can get a fellow member in this thread or in the main forum to translate more of the article.
my cousin sent the pic over. he lives in Hong Kong and i believe that's the newest car mag of the month. i cant really see the small prints but the header reads.."new engine V6, 3.7 liters - easily over 330hp, new fairlady Z's potential will shock you"

then a little lower "us spec will use 19s on the rear"

ok, i got him to send me a better picture. but some of the words are missing.. (he isn't too good with computer tech.) check out the pic again.

"the new style might come out by 07-08" "trasnmission will be 6 speed / 6 speed auto/ and 2 pedal"

actually.. it says, the US spec 06 Z is now using 19s as the rear rims. Japan version won't be using it until next summer"

I was thinking on the same line but then why would they add that in there? That's pretty common sense so why take up the space?
