Default Purchase date for 370z?

Tell me if you think this sounds correct.
G37
-2007 april – appeared at new york international motor show
-calling it the 2008 g37
-available to purchase 2007 august

Now this is my predictions...
370z
-2007 october – hopefully appears at tokyo motor show
-calling it the 2008 370z
-available to purchase around 2008 february

Im just comparing it with the g37 timeline and if the new z was to appear in the motor show in october, if it would be available to be purchase in the beginning of next year. Tell me what you guys think.

the 370Z won't come out since i don't think nissan wants it to compete against the GT-R. but if it does come out i think 2009 would be a better estimate.

I'm curious as of why would you even think the 370Z would compete or affect GT-R sales at all?

Completely different cars. I doubt anyone looking for a GT-R will cross shop with a 370Z.

I Agree. Most Corvette Buyers didn't cross shop with the Camero.

Agree 100%.

Also, I don't see why so many people say the 370 will come out later for the sole reason of "not stealing the GT-R's thunder?"

And what exactly is "competing with the GT-R?"...? Either way Nissan is making the cash.

Everyone will be talking about Nissan if these both hit the lots close to one another.

it would be nice if they came out that soon, but doubtful, we haven't heard much about that car so i would say it is still quite a ways off.

If they drop them both around the same time & create a massive buzz that would be ideal. If by chance a buyer can't afford either, well look over there, whats that??? Its an Alitima coupe !!!

That would create a WHOLE lot of Synergy to Drop both at the Same Time in Showrooms..

Think about it.. They have the WHOLE Sporty Spectrum Covered

Pocket Rocket: Sentra SE-R
Sporty Coupe: Altima Coupe
Sports SUV: Marano
Sporty Sedan: Altima
Sports Car: Z
Exotic: GT-R

I think the proper word is supercar, not exotic.

I don't think the GT-R will have the class & price tag of a supercar; but it will be a damn good supercar

I'm willing to bet money that it will be an '08 model year, available the first of the year.

You're pretty much right on based on what I learned while shooting a Nissan corporate meeting earlier this year.

I have several sources within nissan corporate tell me 3 different things. 2009 model coming third quarter 2008. I have also heard 2010 model coming in 09 and then there is the famous "it has not been determined as of yet".

I dont know that they have even picked a powerplant yet. People assume its going to be a "370Z". The most reputable source i have has been very tight lipped and only dropped hints. His hints suggest it will be "all new" even down to the powerplant. I think with the pictures and gossip that has been surfacing you can pretty much bet its going to be a year or more before we see a new Z. I wouldnt put money on them simply stuffing the 3.7L in a minor redesign. That was done already. Its time for a redesign. I have begun to expect a new car with all new tooling and complete rework of the build line.

I also agree that the GT-R will not be of any concern. Its not going to take Z buyers away or keep people from buying Z's.

It will be very difficult to improve on the looks of the car we all have now. They should just make it a little wider, pop a 3.7L in there, and roll them out, now that the bugs seem to be worked out of them.

Well this thread is useless. Looks like the 350z will be a 08 model so its a pretty good chance that the 09 will be the redesign one. Now i just hope that the 09 will be able to be purchased mid 08 and not in 09.
