bad move by nissan...

it's going to fall behind miserably in a straight-line compared to upcoming cars(camaro, mustang will probably be bumped up, challenger, evo/sti's, etc....)

I'd be happy if that were true.

I would hope Nissan would put the 3.7 liter VQ varient by 2008 as a performance option, oh well I guess I could keep my 05 and save for a GT-R.

Im wondering what the 40th Anniversary will bring to the Z. Im probably gonna keep my 04 till around that time, and just trade it in. Hoping that the 350HP rating will be correct.

I hope this isnt correct. But if the do put the new engine in the same body then they have to change the name. But when 2011 comes, they will have a new body and same engine with the same name ? Sounds a bit...

Or maybe you just read it wrong. Can you write in quotes of what the magazine says about the z?

Don't sweat it....
I still think '09 is the target.

The trend these days is towards shorter life cycles, not longer ones.
The Z will die a slow death as people move to competing products, if they wait to '11.

performance upgrade may be enough in 2009 to hold off on the wait until 2010 or 2011...they better use their time wisely to make some major changes/upgrades to keep up withthe competition theyll have until then, you never know the new "Nissan Z Coupe" may be a hit

if i wasnt putting so much money into mine now id probably think about getting one of the 40th anniversaries, but hell who knows, i still might!

Totally agree with you. Waiting until 2011 would be a near death sentence and would require major resuscitation especially in this category.

"'09 Nissan 370Z"

"An all new Z has been delayed to the 2011 model year, so Nissan has time for a facelift for it's popular Z -car. Yes, the Z got a minor upgrade this year with the addition of the serious Nismo Z package, which includes 306 horsepower from the VQ35 V-6. The 2009 model will take that further when it's fitted with the Infiniti G37's new 330-horsepower, 3.7-litre version of the engine."

maybe nissan doesn't want a new Z in 2009 to coincide with the GTR sales.

Doesn't sound like it according to that. The picture they show looks like a black '07. But who knows they may be wrong.

Oh ok...you didn't say this in the topic. That makes more sense. I could see a change in 09, similar to what the G37 went through from the G35 (350Z to 370Z). And THEN, a few years in the future, a completely new Z.

If the 09 is a 370, I'm going to buy it. And if/when a completely new Z comes, I'll trade in and buy that too
