Pics
We'll know in a little over three months without speculation what the new Z will look like.
All of these threads people post about "They have seen the new Z" or "They have driven the new Z" are too funny.
Nissan has kept this project almost as tight lipped as Area 51. The only pic that may seem to be real is the front/drivers side shot but we don't even know for sure if that's legit.
I'll give Nissan the benefit of the doubt and wait til October when the car is officially unveiled in Paris.

My gut feeling is that the "spy shot" of the silver Z (front/drivers side shot) is probably what we will see revieled in October.
Either way I am with you on this, I am excited as well. Nissan is going to bring us a great car I have no doubt. The GT-R is an awesome car but the Z is and has always been Nissan's bread and butter as an icon in the sports car world.
they have always been protective of camera phones...its an immediate dismissal for anyone..I worked in that plant for 2 years and saw numerous contract workers and 1 Nissan supervisor walked out for having a camera phone. and Normandy is about 45 min from the Nissan plant in Smyrna. I still live in Murfreesboro and have caught the silver and the Red GT-R rollin around town..kinda like one of my neighbors has a blue 09 Max...preproduction model. I even caught the red GT-R on I-24 about 3 weeks ago and he gave me the thumbs up and rocketed off...sounds amazing! I wouldnt be surprised at a glass roofed murano instead of a convertible..since isn't Murano italian for glass anyways..-Collin

Not to say that people will cross-shop them by any means, but just from the words of "Nissan" and "performance" people will automatically think of the GT-R rather than the Z.

But the Z is Nissan's staple in the sports car world. When Nissan discontinued production of the Z in the US market back in 96' it didn't take long for them to figure out it was a huge mistake. Not just in the sports car market but for the Nissan name. And your correct, not many people will cross shop the Z & the GT-R. Your talking a $30K+ car versus a $70K+ car. Not the same nitch. Most people cannot afford a GT-R (new one). That's where the Z comes in. Nissan will sell far more Z's than they will ever sell GT-R's.

I said put Nissan on the map. From the beginning back in 1970 with the 240Z. The Z Car was the fastest selling sports car in the world up until 1996 when they stopped making the 300ZX(Here in the states). The Z is brand identity with Nissan. Sometimes it doesn't matter how many units you sell. A car such as the Z will draw customers in to dealerships and sell other models such as the Altima. Why do you think Nissan is making the new GT-R? It's a limited production car but Nissan knows that it will give them more brand identity. In return selling more vehicles from their line up.

FYI, there are some HQ and plant PR/AV people registered on this forum as well as many of the project managers for the Z/GTR. Posting internal media without permission might not go over very well (for you at least). LOL
