And there have been just as many people who have said that they like what they see.
That's all I'm trying to say.

Just amazing....As no one has seen an uncovered/camoed production model yet.. Do you buy all your art, standing outside the gallery? icon22:

Thought I would add this just for yuks. I know this discussion is all about each of us having our own opinion/impression and it's not realistic to expect a concensus and that's not my intent.
For myself, I don't like the headlights or tail lights. They just don't look right on the car. The best way I can describe that is repeating what I've said elsewhere. The shape is not part of anything else on the car. In other words, the shape does not compliment or "go with" the cars overall design "theme" if that makes sense. So it stands out instead of contributing to the overall impression that the car...as a whole...has on the viewer. Again, this is just my impression.
The first time I saw the 350Z (black) was while driving on an interstate. It just seemed to appear out of nowhere. I'm sure most are familiar with a test psychologists give their patients where they show an image and ask what's the first thing that comes to mind. When I first saw the 350Z, the first thing in my mind oddly enough was, "Autobahn". I don't know why but for some reason, that highway in Germany and the 350Z seemed to go together like bacon and eggs. Go figure.
When I first saw the 370Z renditions with those headlights, my mind just got confused. Nothing formed in my consciousness. I had to work it and never really got anything solid as a result. It's still like that to this day. Those headlights are a distraction to "seeing" the car. Maybe for others those headlights are a nice touch. I don't argue that they can't be but for me I'm just not feeling it to coin a phrase.
So there you go.

We want a lighter, more powerful car that doesn't have a sabertooth front end and doesn't have weird boomerang lights..
Lights - boomerang lights, they had a R8 type led-mod that wrapped around the housing, very similar to the design that Cin-city has been doing. The boomerang design did'nt take away from the overall design of the car.
Yes...I intend on paying my dealer a visit once they are out. Hopefully I will get to park mine right next to the 370 so I can do a side by side comparison. You know, stand back at a distance and just let it soak in. Maybe that will help. I do hope they make some wider wheels and tires available and not just for the top of the line model. Even the stock 350 wheels and tires are too small (although I do like the optional chrome alloys that it came with).
My car looks like my avatar in case anyone is curious. It's a 2006 stock Daytona Blue Touring with an automatic. I bought it used off the lot with 500 miles on it and saved some cash in the process. I've had it for just over 2.5 years and only put 13K on it, so I believe I can get a good price if I do decide to upgrade. We will see.

I didn't like the 370Z headlights at first. But the more I look at the pics we have available the more I like them. They are definitely more aggressive than the 350Z's headlights.
I'll wait until I get the chance to see the car up close and personal and drive it. Then I will make my decision.

it can change just like wut BMW did after they got criticized so much with their taillight design on the 300 and 700 series. thats y 2008 700's look so much sweeter than 2007 even though they're the same generation. check out forums.370zforum.net for more discussions on 370z
Cosmetic wise it's gonna be like the S30 and S130 are today. 20 years from now the 350 will be the most sought after. Looking back we'll see the 370 will only be marginaly faster and it won't matter much to those buying used 350s because it can be made just as fast if not faster with the extra change.
It is what it is. The 370Z doesnt look a whole lot different from the 350, but it is a different car. You have to remember the there were quite a few years of nothing between the Z32 and the Z33, but there is no gap between the new models...its a "makeover" not a complete redesign.
I hear you and i agree with you besides the point that z33 isnt greatest looking car, it is imo best lookin nissan they ever build except the skylines, they are beauties.
But, what really kills me about nissan and infiniti these days is the interior, they all use exacly same interior for all their models except the sentra and those crapper boxes, all upper class nissans/infinities use the same interior. One of the reasons why i went for 350z is the uniqueness of the interior, the gauges and the just the whole interior, nothing that has ever been done. now mark my words, when the 370 comes, it will look like g35 inside and wont have the stance that 350 has now. as for exterior, from the photoshops i like the front and hate the back, i think the back is the ugliest thing that has ever came out of the nissans butt
notice the exhaust note of the g37, the whole note was killed and now sounds like a civic on steroids, + some retarded rattle :\. im sure they will use the same exaust for the 370z minus couple inches in length. it will kill the whole car and nissan is going to loose alot of buyers =(
