Not the best pic, but I saw a 370Z

Here is a better pic of a 350z. This overlay is to get an idea of the length of hood, wb, etc. This pic is not to get an idea of how high the hood, roof, etc is as the 370z pic is more from a top down pic and the 350z pic is directly from the side.

Nice if they had it...who cares if they don't. (Considering 600k Carrera GT still has a turn key.)
Lighter weight
Fun handling
Reliable inside and out
Broad and ample powerband
It's all we're asking for in a Z.
All the other B.S.? The Infiniti dealership is two blocks down the street.

Yes, I love my Infiniti with the push start!
Once you have it, you won't go back to turning a key! LOL

Alright, everyone chill with the keyless feature crap. I'm sorry I said anything. You guys can't even understand that the only reason I mentioned it was because I've personally been having to walk up and use my key on my passenger door, get in, lean through my passenger compartment to open my driver door, and walk back around to get into my car. My driver side door handle on my 98 GSX broke recently (known DSM issue, new one on order), but the traditional "keyless" entry hasn't worked for quite some time. That's why I'm stoked about getting a car with this feature. If the 370Z didn't have this feature but was still an incredible car, I'd still buy it. It's just a feature I'm looking forward to, it's not the deciding factor of the purchase.
Beyond that, people have different priorities for purchasing the 370Z. Their priorities are their own, as is their money and how they choose to spend it. One of the reasons I'm considering something else is modifications. The VQ series is fairly tapped out for power. Picking up a 335i would more rewarding in this area as a tune and exhaust can give huge gains and put you much closer to 400 horsepower. The downside is that the 335i is a little heavier than the 350Z at 3571 lbs. I'm a huge fan of turbochargers (owned three DSMs), but just as much AWD (owned three DSMs). The AWD 335xi is 3759 lbs. I absolutely do not need the back seat and there are plenty of ways to lighten the car a bit. I'm not exactly sure the extent to which BMW has used aluminum in their 3 series.
Now before everyone jumps back on the BMW vs Nissan argument, I will again concede that the BMW is heavier, and also costs more. I'm not going to go into the whole reliability thing because a lot of that comes down to experience. BMW covers all maintenance and such for a couple years, which is really nice if your priorities include 'low-maintenance,' but it should also be considered when you add up the cost of owning the car. Right now I'm weighing my options and trying to determine which car suits me better.
The whole point is that for people with different priorities, different conclusions and reasoning has to be applied when choosing a car. If some people aren't too specific in their needs or they are choosing between two very similar cars, a cool feature could sell then on one over the other. That doesn't make them wrong, it just makes them not you (unless you are that kind of person, in which case, please disregard the previous sentence
).
I recently drove the STI and EVO back-to-back. The EVO has a keyless system, but honestly there are reasons I personally would choose the STI over it. And I'm not about to go into why, I'm just going to say that for me, I would purchase the STI over the EVO because it suits me better, but really neither suits me well enough to purchase either.
Beyond all THAT, a push button start is no more of a gimmicky feature than a regular key. It is just another way to start the car. Some people are used to inserting a metal stick into a slot and twisting it, others prefer just to push a button. Neither actually accomplishes anything more than engaging the starter to turn over the engine. One is more convenient. All those bitching about the push-button start, are you against all things that are more convenient? How about going back to hand cranking the car to get it started?
Sheesh. Can't say a damn thing on this forum without some people acting like you just slapped their grandmother. And if anyone intentionally misconstrues anything I've said, I won't hesitate to slap your grandmother.
Back on topic: Nice catch with the pic. The 370Z looks like it's going to be lean and mean.

It's just a passionate discussion on what people see as a priority in a sportscar.
A Push key is a welcomed feature and I doubt anyone is going to object to it. It will probably end up on the new Z...but if not, it won't be a deal breaker.
Oh, and you can slap my grandmother anytime. She might slap you back though.

If you tried ps you would see that the two wheels overlay each other almost perfectly. Look even closer and you can see that the front wheel well, A pillar, front door gap overlay almost perfectly.
