a post from the vw forum...

Driver of the lead car (#1) was in contact via a 2-way radio.
Car 2 saw us taking pictures. Must have radioed car 1. While he was talking to car 2 he looked over, put the 2-way over his face and than layed on the brakes hard.
You are correct we were travelling down I-10 East heading to Tucson area

You can see them in the picture you are referring to, but they are almost perfectly behind the driver's gauge cluster. Look just to the left of the center gauge and right under his thumb.

MC is right. You can see it in other pictures better, but the tails have not changed at all.

Watermark? LOL more like overly blatant advertising imo.

I think I can see it in the fifth pic, slightly, if it's there. If it's not, then I don't know!

For those of you still questioning the center, dash-mount, triple gauges, you can see them through the windshield of this picture from the other thread.

My question is...what are these two guys doing with the cars? Are they just putting miles on them to see if anything breaks prematurely? I can't imagine any kind of stress testing on a public road with traffic other than normal driving conditions and Arizona has pretty stable weather patterns.

AZ has very dry weather and is the perfect kind of place to test the real world application of all that lab development to pick up any gaping flaws in the design. The predictable weather is also really nice, as you point out. I believe Nissan has a full blown testing facilty/track out there. Can someone correct me if I'm mistaken?

Nissan always does this to test their reliability, and its working well. Nissan's reliability is always better or much better than average, according to CR.

Compare this to Audi or Benz who only test their cars in Germany's cold weather.
