370Z interior
The interior materials looks more upscale, but I'm not seeing a "sports car" cockpit design (center console) to it. I like the gauge layout with the needles pointing downward, but the cluster housing is too radical. The shifter console looks like a wacky design, and it makes me wonder if they can save space with something a bit more low profile and simpler. Plus, the interior somehow looks cramped.
As for the audio and screen, it looks like we're going to have a heck of a time trying to go aftermarket. It seems like this is the trend for Nissan and Infiniti.

Am guessing if they put a computer in the dial on the left then one of the 3 pods in the centre will be a fuel gauge?
Also... It looks like the tops of the dials in the centre fold down to "close" them...
I dont think down to cost, that they will have a screen as standard... even though prices of screens have dropped since the Zed being introduced, esp as most of the features are displayed on the comp on the left hand screen.... Think there will be a cubby IMO

Closer inspection of the driver seat makes it appear to be a cloth seat.
The layout is definitely right hand drive oriented, but not to the point where it isn't functional.
The paddles are on the column and do not rotate with the steering wheel.
The stitching through the center console in a nice touch.
Onc cup holder is visible, another might be in the glove compartment or in the center armrest (my DSM had a cupholder insert in the armrest like that).
No one knows what the center stack will look like without the navigation unit. Nav will likely be a Touring-trim-only option.
The Persimmon interior will not likely be available with all of the exterior colors.

Looks like Nissan took a lot of the interior styling cues from the new Maxima and incorporated them into the 370z. I think the interior is a major upgrade to the current model.
The exterior I'm still deciding whether or not I like it. The 370 has the same basic profile as the 350, but the ***-end looks a lttle short in my opinion. Reminds me of the BMW Z3/4 series....I guess Nissan was attempting to incorporate a little "old school" from the 240z days into the new design.

We get the same tunnel setup you guys get in the US apart from the gear setup is the right way for us...
It shows on the Zed with the centre screen, its set flat, but if you look at mass market cars like the Honda civic, you get different interiors for LH and RH drive so everything is angled at the driver... Saying that the Supra works that way. Nissan save money by making the same centre console for both on the Zed.
Unfortunatly for us Brits, most neiche market cars like the zed are made for the left hand market (more units sold) even on aftermarket stereos the buttons favor the passanger rather than the driver!
Still looks like a much better interior than the 350's, looks like lots for the weightloss guys to chuck out of the wondow!
