Default Why No Talk Of The 2010 40th Anniversary Z?

I know the official physical unveiling is still a few weeks off, and the release isn't scheduled for a few more months, but with all this talk about the Z's specifications, various trim lines, a NISMO successor etc... I found it odd that no one has thought to speculate or even discuss the 40th Anniversary Z that I'm sure Nissan has in the pipeline. I know some folks were disappointed with the 35th Anniversary car since it was basically an early release of the '06 Touring but I'm sure at least a few of you must be wondering what Nissan has up their sleeve for this car. Especially with the Z's 40th arriving in so shortly after the Z34's introduction. Regarding a NISMO replacement, I belong to the camp that believes we won't see a NISMO successor until the tail end of the Z34's lifespan. My guess is that between introduction and replacement of the Z34, until the NISMO is introduced the car that will take up the top spot of the Z range will be the 40th Anniversary car. If any model deserves some speculation IMO, it's the 40th Anniversary.

Thoughts?

Depending on when they actually release the car, I am betting the 40th aniversary will get a number, some special wheels, maybe a different seat insert and Nismo muffler maybe. Doubt that it will be much more than the 40th aniversary of the Rotary.

Just my .02 guess

Well I touched on this a while back in one of the other threads talking about the Nismo 370z release, which i said "we ill likely see a 40th Anniversary Z before we see a nismo edition Z". I mean they made a 35th, and im willing to bet that they will make a 40th edition avaiable as well. My thinking is that they are not gonna want to put 2 special trim models out within a year of each other. If i had to guess id put money on there being a 40th for 2010 and a Nismo edition following sometime around 2012/2013.

*Ahem* Talk amongst members of the Z community. Not talk from the manufacturer.

Because everybody is bitching about the new boomerang lights... and arguing over whether it will post 13 or 13.1 in the quarter...

Methinks its the yellow....That was a nice color back then and it was on the Z. Love the 240z's....Tht yellow on any modern Z would look nasty...The MY yellow the 350z has is beautiful...would like to see that yellow return as well as daytona blue....

+2 on the green especially a metallic green. Or what about a shade changing dark green to blacl like Mazda had on their 92 929. It was called Black Forest. I still think the only real changes for a 40th anniversary edition will be cosmetic and little to no performance added over whatever the best Z produced will already be.

i remember reading on the nissan usa website that they made the 35th anniversary cuz they had sold like 350,000 Zs or something like that. all they did was preview next years upgrades on the previous years model.

anybody can make an 2003 into a 2006 (and make the 03 a million times faster and nicer), so i figure a 2009 and 2011 should be same, unless they introduce a v8 or gtr powered Z.
