Yellow looks sweet....but let's not forget some dark tinted windows.

I normally don't like those wheels, or yellow.. I like them both in this case. Frankly I just like the car period. Yes it needs some drop to really set off the shape, but it's damn sharp once you do.

Someone on here said the 370 may be the best design since the 240. While I think that could be true I liked the later model 300zx body style better than the 240.... but I like this better than that.

Here's my contribution. Sorry about my weak-sauce pchop skills.

Those are my AME 19's from my redline 07. I made them the SAME DIAMETER as the wheels on the car in the pic. Are those OEM Wheels 19's? Because my wheels sized the same, look tiny as he11. Or is the 370 just much taller than the 350?

I could try another time with the wheels blown up to 22"+.

Those BBS-looking wheels on the yellow chop are about 24" in proportion with that pic.

If this is really the new Z I'm sold. I was sceptical before this, I still need to get some behind the whell but this **** looks like a sling-shot in the high tension position, drawn back, slightly before release! HOTT!!!

I'm going to ask this again. Can someone with Photoshop take a picture of the 370 and using it as sort of a template (mainly for the new wheelbase), do the following:

1. Remove the long, sloping hatchback and replace it with a hatch like the 350 has so it retains the "coupe" look. The goal is to get rid of the fastback shape (ala Porsche 928) and lower the rear deck so the back doesn't have the big bulbous look like the old Eclipse had.

2. Obviously remove the damn funny lights (front and back). Replace them with something slightly different than the 350 that suits the car. Use your imagination. Think of things like: how the edges will blend with nearby body panels for continuity, avoid anything that suggests eyes, eyebrows, or designs from other brand cars.

3. Remove the fangs, experiment with a grill that picks up on the "V" shape of the hood grooves and inner edges of the headlights, so the lines of the front end essentially continue and compliment the grill opening. I think the V shape that the fangs produce is a good idea but it should have been accomplished by angling the left and right edges of the grill opening itself. This will erase the "catfish" look the car currently has and give it a more aggressive stance. Also reduce the flat spot around the grill opening. I'm surprised nobody has pointed this out yet. They're as big as the fender flat spots and make the car look like it has lips. The area on each side of the grill opening, going back to the front wheels on each side is very different from the shape produced by the 350 (where the side reflectors are located). It's hard to describe but you can see the differences when comparing the two cars together.

4. Reduce the size of flat spots on the fenders. Just tone them down a bit. Add 19" 5-spoke wheels (9" front, 10" rear) other than the new wheels that look too much like a set of open-end wrenches welded together. Maybe try some different aftermarket wheels to demonstrate how they would look. Do not lower the car, remember...the goal is to produce a "stock" alternative.

5. Not sure how you would accomplish this but I have this picture in my head of the body being more narrow (door panel to door panel, not the fenders). This would make the fenders appear to have even more flare...again, increasing the aggressive appearance. I think if Nissan had done this, they may have realized an even greater reduction in weight.

6. Try to do something about the stubby appearance of the nose (due to a shorter front end). As much as looks feasible, maybe try to bring the slope of the hood down a bit (but not too much) without suggesting the need for a hood hump to accommodate the engine.

7. Remove the butt-hole in the back between the exhaust pipes.

The overall goal is to produce a car that looks more like an evolution of the 350 in the true sense of the word. The hell with the 240 lines. Let's be forward thinking here...not retro. The result should be a very aggressive looking car that looks similar to the 350 but does not make it look mutated.

If done well, I think people would get a chance to see what the car could have looked like. Maybe we can even send it to Nissan for their impression.

I may try to draw this using a tracing of the 370, then scan it and post. But it would have much more impact if Photoshop could be used. I think it's worth seeing...maybe we may start something. Stranger things have happened.

God, this car is so ugly stock, IMO, but it could be soooo hawt with just a small change. Could someone photoshop the headlights so that it's just the horizontal slit part (like a Mazda RX-8)? Just take out the boomerang portion, and then do the same for the tails? I think that alone would make the car look 100x better.

The lights will always look like crap to me but I have to admit this car might look nice with drop and the right wheels.

1. The back...

You know what, I'm going to stop and just say, buy a Z4 coupe when they come out. Seriously, Scarpser the new ones should be right up your alley. Shoot, I kind of wish they were out so I could compare it to the Z, which I like by the way. Nissan has made a wonderful car and no amount of complaints sent into Nissan is going to change the direction they went/are going with the Z. This is progressive design. It's good and a lot of the components you complain about actually work. This is a modern interpretation of the original Z. It is a triumphant return to what the car was intended as from the start. It is an amazing design that will make far more sense in person. If it bothers you so much, keep you 350Z. It sounds like you really want someone to just photoshop the 370 back into a 350. A very large proportion of people will embrace this design if they are not already. Please just avoid this entire subsection if you hate the 370Z so much.

Now, to contribute. I thought it would be interesting just to drop the stock car a couple inches to see what a reasonable street/light track coilover setup would do to the stance of the cars. I didn't want to slam it to the ground and I think the 19 inch stockers fill out the wells fairly nicely with the drop. Later, I'll put in some better looking wheels.
