Is it just me or does that look like the makings of a front axle hole for what might have been AWD?? Or just a piece from the maxima?

Do you mean "X" - AWD or "X" - luxury like the 300ZX? That might also mean twin turbos! One could only hope, although that'll never happen, IMO, with the GT-R being it's Nissan big boy.

anyone notice that the headunit is now 1 peice with the climate controls, there goes your aftermarket plans.

Only on the Touring Navi models. The base seems relatively easy to modify.....

i saw these 2 cars on the road yesterday on my way back to Tucson from San Antonio. i told my wife 'holy chit its the new 370z!'

looks like the base model + sports package is the way to go, since its easily modded for aftermarket stereo, though the dash for the touring package looks much nicer.

the pics of the interior navi screen, look like they have directional buttons.... i thought it was touch screen??

It is a touch screen. Directional buttons for you to use as well.
