Car & Driver / Motortrend as tested weights
Just an FYI... we know that C&D weighs each car they test, and not just spouts off manufacturer data. I wasn't sure about MT, so I emailed their editor a while back.
They (MT) confirmed that they also use certified scales for every car that they test, and that the weights given for the 370Z test was using their scales. They also confirmed that the weights are without driver, test equipment, etc... just full fluid levels and stock components.
I felt it was pertinent data, since there is so much discussion about the weight, and testing procedures.

I think they could actually make improvements on that department--i.e. the Z's curb weight; 3,OOO+ lbs. on these vehicles is just too much (my Touring Coupe is less than a hundred pounds lighter than my ex-Maxima!)
