370z vs Porsche Cayman Motive Magazine
I completely disagree. I don't know where you get off saying they're not worth comparing. I'll say that the Cayman definitely has the name cache which, rightly or wrongly, counts for a lot with most people.
I'd rather have the Z, and spend the extra $30,000 on wheels, suspension, and a TT kit with all the fixings.

Yes, the article is all wrong. Can't compare a Nissan to a Porshe, sacrilege that is what that is! The writer is obviously not qualified to have an opinion.
Same thing with the GTR !

GM could have been saved from going broke.
I think the opinion the writer was trying to get across was the fact is the Porsche is a slightly better sports car when compared to the 370Z. However, you get what you pay for. And when driving the Porsche he could not justify the additional $35K+ in price.

"As good as the engine might be in the 370Z . . . well, I'll come right out and say it — it just doesn't sound good. From outside the car, it lacks the distinctive Chewbacca howl of the 350Z and from inside, it just sounds coarse."
Best quote EVER. Chewbacca howl FTW!

Sure, if you're into the universally criticized 996 platform and want basically the same hp with more weight (99-01 911 vs 05-08 Cayman S), along with the power and steering feeling sapping AWD, go for it. I guess for some having the numbers 9-1-1 on the car clearly outweigh having an inferior car.
The New Z still amazes me. I thought the 350z was a bargain, but the new specs are amazing. Nissan went two for two taking on and competing with the 911 and the cayman with the GTR and the 370z. That's japanese engineering at its finest.
