Question...and this goes for all Z cars.

It has been demonstrated through aftermarket mods that the space between the fender and the tire does not have to be so huge, so why does Nissan insist on putting out these Grand Canyon fenders all the time? Is it some law or something? I don't see this on other makes and models.

The white 370 has aftermarket wheels and tires and looks good but you can still see how the fender is starting to look like a cowling as it drops down.

They do it to make s2000 owners sad. haha

Besides the obvious: They want to give the owner as much space for as wide of tires as they can fit so it gets better traction at the track...The thin walls allow the large over hang so you can put in a suspension for the track to hold the fat tires and lower the center of gravity so it ends up sticking to the track better in every way... Then you start beating serious track cars. Or drive to the grocery store fast (automatic owners).

But...they would have lawsuits for days if they sold them any lower, so they have to have the ride height look ridiculous.

S2000s are always rolling the fenders so they can fit 9 inch tires with a square set-up and a decent suspension...Poor guys
