Hi guys. I was in a shopping mall here in Puerto Rico and Nissan is having a showcase of the new 370z. I was looking at the car and the sales rep told me everything about it,nothing that I already know but I almost fell when she told me the price tag here in Puerto Rico.......53,000!! that is without taxes and all. The base one will sell for about 42,500. I wanted one but i think ill have to wait... What are your thougts? Is this price right?

Coming from PR man that sounds about rite. Cars prices out there are a lot more expensive. Its an exclusive thing to have a car like that out there. We usually buy cars out here and ship them to PR to turn a profit. If you really want it, you may want to look in the states and ship that bad boy.
Sounds about right. we actually getgood deals here in the US. I've seen some crazy car prices in PR everytime i go but there are also some cars we dont see in the US that PR gets.

Each market is different, R34 GT-Rs go for 4,000,000 yen ~ (40,000 USD) in Japan, but they cost 60,000 ~ in the USA. Same as the corvette C6 Z06, costs 70,000 USD, but over 110,000 USD equivalent in japan. The same car costs 270,000 USD in Norway, Sweden and some Asian countries like singapore.
No wonder the PR guys love the rotaries there lol.

Registration on a new car is 105% on the first $10,000 of the original price + 180% on the rest, and before that you have to add 25% sales tax.
So basically a $36,000 370Z will cost you:
Car: $36,000
Sales Tax: $9,000
Sub-total: $45,000
Registration Tax (on $10,000): $10,500
Registration Tax (on $35,000): $63,000
Total: US$118,500

That's about $20k too high in the papers today I see 09 370z Touring for $33k..

In a couple of months they will have to come down lower with the economy in the shape that its in. But then maybe not they have the Altima priced at $19k 2 door baisc and Chyrsler still selling its 300sc for $32k.
But $53k is way too much, unless you live in Canada.
