so since i've been trying to sell my 04 350z i've been looking at newer 06-08 350z's mainly, but i stumbled across this 370z with water damage. is it worth taking a look at or is purchasing a car with previous water/flood damage a no-no?
2009 Base with 30k miles for $18k. The dealer claims that the vehicle has been driven for 2 years since the damage with no problems.

yeah, im going to keep it in mind. more than likely going to go with an HR 350z.. need to focus on getting rid of mine first.. hopefully tomorrow, if he's not just another craigslist bullsh1tter
I would steer clear!!!
I had a flooded Z, and the thing is you can never be 100% sure that everything is going to last, even if you think youve replaced every part that got touched by water. Some parts may be corroding that you wont discover for a long time. IDK about you, but I dont want to be constantly worrying if my car is going to have a mechanical or electrical failure.
If you do decide to do it, I would definitely make sure you had the budget to do a lot of repairs. Also, keep in mind, it will be near impossible to resale a flood car.

I took auto shop in high school and we received a car that had flood damage and was donated by the dealership. The car had been brand new on the lot. We (and other classes) completely dismantled the car and cleaned it, then put it back together. It became the Driver's Ed. car for the school. You would not believe how much damage occurred and how sediments got into everything. I would pass based on my experience.

Don't even take a look, dealers will never give you a fair price and they'll give you every excuse there is that your car is worthless. Don't ever buy flooded car unless you plan on not taking a loss.
Did you pass on the flooded 370?
From personal experience, I'd never buy a car with bad history ever again. Even if the price is really low. It's always low for a reason. Never worth buying a car that might not be reliable. All it will do is cause headaches and make you broke!
