Ok...yeah, that pretty much sold me. I think I just found my new daily driver. Are there any dealerships out there that won't rape you over the price? I don't mind paying a little markup, but I'm not paying 10-15k over.

You are probably going to have to wait it out a bit... Seems that 10K over was about standard for preorders months ago, but apparently the hype has gotten worse now that more of the gen. public knows about the car so some dealers are like $30-40K over. Give it a while and I bet we will start seeing closer and closer to MSRP.

BTW, I dont even have a GT-R dealer in my entire state (which is the 4th largest BTW, but not by population obviously)...

Simply amazing. Right around where I would expect the GT-R to be on Top Gear's track.

Just shy of the Enzo's time makes the GT-R a bonafide supercar.

Top Gear Magazine crashes the Nissan GT-R
Apparently, the driver of the Audi R8 following this Nissan loaned GT-R could not stop in time and ran into the back of it. This occured while shooting for an upcoming Top Gear Magazine issue on the Isle of Man.

Only 1 car in that list is a 4-seater.... GT-R

well. 911 GT3 RS was a 4-seater. Any ways, just imagine the potential of this car. It's fast and handling is amazing.

+1!!! A car with interior amenities and practicality... all while being able to destroy those supercars.

But since when is the GT3 RS a 4 seater? It has a roll cage. Also the standard GT3 is not a 4 seater either.

And it's the heaviest, right?

Not sure about the LP640

But McLaren SLR should be heavier. F599 is actually lighter(3722) ?

LP640 is more like 3500-3600. The SLR is 3800. (Both unladen). The GT-R is definitely the heaviest in that fleet.

Thanks for the Top Gear vid. "corners faster than electricity". Classic. Who said the Japanese can't compete with European engineering.

How does one go about getting an out of state car like that? We have some interesting emissions laws like California. Do you know of any hang ups?

Is there any choice as far as color goes, or do you just get to pick from the lot?

I have a dealership that is supposedly GT-R certified (one of 3 in Seattle) right by my house. I was going to stop in this week and just ask a few questions...but I bet they're looking for a big hike up.

I never buy 1st year cars that have a lot of hype because of this, but the economy in the shape it is might catch me a break.

Might be fun to fly to Dallas and drive it back...
