Instead of bitching and whinning about the GTR, Porsche needs to come to the realization that their days of domination has come to an end. Nissan did an outstanding job with the new GTR, and they will further shock the world with the release of GTR V-Spec. With Porsche's claim, that just further proves their bitterness towards the GTR(Nissan), and their huge ego. GTR sure has proved that it can be as good as a Porsche, and better. Porsche engineers need to go back to the drawing board rather than spread the word of hate. I have never liked Porsche, and this has futher proven that it is not even worth buying, IMO. Go GTR!!

Not that Porsche ever stated that they were ones "dominating" (ask Maranello, and they'll give you a different answer), but Stuttgart's heritage in racing and automotive development can't easily be erased with one car, no matter how magnificent it is.

Plus, all it takes is for Porsche to design yet another super-car competitor, right? The GT-R is not the be-all end-all of all cars. If it can be improved upon (i.e. V-spec, Mine's modification, etc), it can be beaten/out-designed as well.

Don't get me wrong. At this point in time, I'd rather buy a GT-R than a base 997 or a Carrera S/C4. It's just that Porsche is not just some easily-toppled fake-@$$ company.

Porsche needs to stop whining and just be happy they can sell a clock for $1000 on their ***-engined poseur-mobiles.

I love Porsche and regardless of how fast the GTR is, I held a 911 Turbo/ GT3 sorta of in a different class: a more refined and timeless techy sort of sportscar.
BUT, with these recent allegations it makes Porsche look petty.

Got a complex with a swooped back bug design and rear engine?
FYI: technology is only going to make cars perform better.
Porsche needs to STFU and make faster cars for the price they demand or spend all day trying to discredit a little competition. Simple as that...

Porsche didn't want to void their warranty so they didn't turn off the VDC, that is why it was slower

+1.

GT-R seems to defy physics. You have a car that's a crapload heavier than a Z06, the Z06 pulls decent lateral grip around corners, and absolutely gets decimated by the Z06 in straight line acceleration (from trap speeds for 1/4) and somehow loses to the GTR on the 'Ring by that much. I wouldn't doubt that Nissan did something shady with their test vehicle.

Now we know for a fact that in order to drive your car the way it was advertised, you no longer have a valid warranty.

...not to mention the ridiculous maintenance cost. Good job Nissan...keep it up.

Why hate!? If you're not a GT-R owner, why worry?

I can care less since I don't own one...

But it's hard to think that Nissan is so shady, when dozens of other media "performance tests" yield about the same results.

Makes me wanna say "Porsche, why all the fuss....why sooo serious?"

Ahh, resort to name calling when you can't refute your own logic being tossed back at you.

Ah, but did you read anywhere where I like or dislike the GT-R? Reading comprehension looks like one of your shortcomings, besides the obvious one, of course. It's not name calling when it's a fact, d1ckhead!
