GTR SpecV unveiled

All of the numbers released are from Nissan correct? There havent been any independent tests just yet. I do think that 170K is a lot for what is listed, but this car could quite possibly outperform other cars listed at the same price just like the GT-R does.
At the end of the day though, if I had the money, it would go to a non spec-v GT-R

I wonder if Nissan has any official performance numbers for the specV. If I remember correctly, there were unofficial 'Ring times for the specV around 7:24 but nothing after that.
If Nissan wants to sell this car for $170K, they should provide some performance numbers to justify the price. Because as of right now, the listed specs do not justify the price. And if they think people are going to spend double the price of a base GTR for exclusivity, they are crazy. Somebody that has $170k to spend on a car is not going to buy a Nissan for it's exclusivity. To them, it's still going to be a Nissan.
Oh, and the exhaust tips are ugly. What the hell is "titanium-coated?" For $170k, they should be putting on a real titanium exhaust.

this is the most disappointing car to come out of Nissan in a very long time. Overpriced for absolutely no good reasons. The jump from a base corvette to a Z06 to a ZR1 makes sense... but wow this car doesn't even add more power and costs almost 2 ZR1s???

They are not about to release specs for it because they have eliminated Launch Control. So the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times will go down. They are not about to announce that....
I think FAIL...

One of the locals here started modding his GTR with CF race seats, Dry CF parts, much lighter wheels, etc and I think he has dropped 200 lbs from his car. He is also doing different downpipes and different mid-pipes and A Cobb tuning access port.
He has built a Spec-v and still has his back seats. Most of the stuff donated or at a good price from sponsors.
If this is the spec-v, I am really disappointed. And are these only available in Japan? No US-Spec? I was hoping some one here would pick up a Spec-V and sell their GTR to me :-)

Peak output remains the same, at 478 horsepower, but a switch on the right of the steering wheel (shared with the cruise control) activates an electronic circuit to boost mid-range torque by 15 lb-ft (up to 449 lb-ft). A green light illuminates on the dash when the overboost function is enabled, giving drivers 80 seconds to perform any overtaking maneuvers, and then defaulting back to the standard setting.
I'd much much rather take a ZR1.

For all you know the car is highly underrated, and will outperform the standard GTR by quite a few. Nissan is improving things that will help the specV perform well on a tight track, such as weight and brakes.
Although, if I could, I would just buy a standard GTR, get dry carbon bucket seats, Light 18/19'' wheels, straight pipes and a single outlet exhaust and call it a day. 500whp and minus 150lbs..
