Default 05 Heated Mirrors

So I picked up my 05 ZR touring today but was curious how the heated mirrors worked. I didn't see any special buttons. Does it automatically heat the mirrors when the defrost is in. Too lazy too read the manual right now,

Should work like my 04 ZR, the heated seats buttons also operate the heated mirrors.

Actually, no, the mirrors are not linked to the seats. I get mine to work when I press the first circle (see attached pic) 'in'. The light in the center will come on, and the rear defroster and side mirrors will warm up.

You are Quite Correct, my fault for repeating something I was once told long ago, and I had accepted it without verifying it myself. Have not needed to defrost my own outside mirrors yet, and I parroted the misinformation. Thanks!

First time for everything... Sorry...

I had heard that the '05 model was going to come with the convex (wide-view) mirrors on the driver (left) side as well as the usual convex mirror on the right side. Can someone with an '05 verify this? If this is true, I'll see if I can upgrade my heated driver-side mirror for an '05 mirror to get a larger view. I had ordered a replacement mirror from Australia but it did not come with the heating attachments.

Thanks.

I'm not sure the '04 mirrors are heated...Here is a Nissan press release on the '05 It does say the mirrors have a larger surface....p.s. just read in the '04 owner's manual that the defroster operates the outside heated mirrors,(if so equipped), whatever they mean by that.....

I don't think the "Highlights" means new for 2005. The top 6 items are all part of 04s. Some models of 04 has heated mirrors, mine does. Just never had a chance to turn it on, probably never will either.

I agree with you on all of what you say except for the part listed about wider side view mirror surface....I have seen that mentioned elsewhere......besides, zand02max was curious about that.....Dave

I've used the heated outside mirrors a few times and they work great. Yes, they are connected to the rear window defroster. (Don't use it when the top's down!)

The difference between the '04s and '05s is that the heated mirrors come standard on ALL '05s and only came standard on '04 Tourings.

OMEN is correct, the heated mirrors come on the 04 Touring model. They have been handy during the recent rain + fog...

Just noticed we both have a CS, Touring, frost int, blue top. Great taste!
