Default Insurance Hike,WTF, THANKS for all those that wrecked their Z's!

So I check my insurance coming up due in Jun 05 (I pay twice a year so I don't have to mess with it). Anyway, they hiked my 6 month policy $75.

They say the 350Z increased due to the symbol going from a 20 to a 23.

Thanks to all those who wrecked their Z's out there, appreciate it!

I knew this was coming, it was just a matter of time before insurance companies realized there are unsafe Z DRIVERS out there!

BTW, I have no tickets, accidents for the last 15 years! I love paying for other people's misfortune, i just absolutely love it,

Anyone else see their rates increase? Mine is still not bad at $450 every 6 months, some of you are going to cringe when your rates increase on your next policy renewel!

Mine went up. Same reason sincde the "symbol" went up. It is now classified as a "Hot" car. "Hot" cars pay more for insurance.

I hope my insurance company doesn't....
Drop it like it's hoooootttt, drop it like it's hooooottttt!!! lol

Well! I'm 45 years old, never has any ticket or accident. Used to pay $1200 a year for 2004 350ZR.
The got damn 21ST Century Insurance already increased the premium on my policy to $1450 a year. I plan to change another Insurance company or trade the Z in for the SLK350...

Are you saying that there are people out there driving cars that are beyond their abilities and that they are irresponsible and not yet mature enough to realize that the vehicle they are driving requires respect and experience to do the things that they want to do with them?
I'm apalled. Shocked. Surprised too. Yea right.

Everyone here drives like there's no tomorrow. I, for one, do not. Tomorrow is pretty damn important to me.
Be afraid, be very afraid!

I pay just over $800 every 6 months in atlanta with Progressive, and a stated value of $45000 due to my mods. It was like 670 without the mods. I just renewed last month.
39 clean record, multi car discount.

Mine's $420 every six months. Just outside of Chicago, with State Farm. Then again, I have a boatload of policies through them (three cars, a truck, a horse trailer, a jetski, an ATV, my house...geez, why don't I just hand them my paycheck!). The multi-line deal gets me a big discount. Oh, and I haven't had a ticket in 14 years.

Back when I was too poor to own nice cars, I got tickets left & right. I had 14 tickets in 3 years. Once I made enough money to be able to afford cars that went fast enough to truly deserve getting a ticket, I haven't gotten one!

20yrs old: 6,000 a year insurance. No Accidents, EVER ( i mean that the two that i was involved in, weren't my fault and weren't with my Z). Also, i have 1 ticket on my record worth 2 points. Keep in mind my friend that although you may think you pay alot, you don't. Others pay more and probably for the reasons and actions of what everyone does (including themselves), including what you did 15yrs ago. Therefore, if you have EVER had a ticket, or EVER been in an accident- whether the points were taken away or whether the accident was your fault or not- you have ONLY YOURSELF TO BLAME. Try looking at it from the prospective: at least you can afford insurance.

--there are so many factors that determine your insurance rates. now a days it seems crazy to think that insurance companies haven't found some formula that would accurately predict the driver your are, or are to become. its become a science per say. all we are too the insurance companies is another statistic - a # really- in the game to make money. im sure also that the many frivilous law suits that have been filed and won are also to blame for these high rates (actually you can consider most law suits to be the main reason why EVERYTHNG cost as much as it does in the world).

you know what i do about it?

go on with my life. ive found that if i give time to something i have no control of is a waste of time i could have been happy thinking or doing something else. im probably going to deep for most when i say that when you die, two things matter- what you gave and what you took. hopefully for me, i gave more than i took.

what i mean by that is in this world people are more admired for what they gave from themselves instead of what they took for themselves. one shouldnt sweat the small things, (such as insurance rates) because in todays' society insurnace is a need not a want (yet many are without it).

I think u got taken for. And here's why. Insurance companies have the right to raise ur policy and many do it to rip you off. Insruance usually go down, not up. Change companies if it happens. I change mines almost every year becuse my agent awlays gives me excuses of why it should cost more due to nothing that is my fault. But ur $75 is nothi' for half a yr compared to my $400. If the raise was due to bad Z drivers like they told u, i think they're lying because the # of Z drivers are small and most are ppl who own them are somewhat mature drivers unlike a grp of RSX/Celica drivers. Age wise, Z owners are typically in the mid 20s.

I just paid for my next 6 months prem, and it went down. I use to pay $824 and it dropped to $731. What's significant about this rate from GEICO, is that it covers both my 03-350Z Coupe and 04-Roadster. Living in Hawaii, our rates are usually comp to those in CA.

Have good driver record, work for the US Defense Dept, and member of the Z Club.

No harm to contact GEICO and check it out. I hear that Progressive Ins. is also offering good rates on Z's.

I have USAA and pay $120 a month for 04 z and 03 montero sport. That is only $45 every 6 months more than having my 01 gallant. Very happy with my rate.
