Thanks for making me feel better. Mine was bought 6/'04 and now has 27,000. But just curious. How do you run up your miles? Long commute or work a job that requires a lot of driving?

Hey dude! You know, nothing like a few road trips to Knoxville during football season to rack up the miles, eh? Sidetrip to the mountains...what could be better, right??? That's where a lot of my miles came from...burnt a lot of rubber between here and there...(grin).

I really don't. Mileage just racks up. Looks like the way you are running, you will probably beat me.

I bought a 2nd car so I don't put as much miles anymore.

I may have the lowest. After 22 months, I just passed 10,000km (6,214 mi).

= 282 mi per month. I love driving this car, but I take public transit to work everyday.

Question

Have any on these high milage Roadsters experienced the "roaring" problem?

Mine has 17,000 (purchased 15 months ago). Had "roaring" problem after 9,000.

I think the "roaring" problem has more to do with build date than with how many miles are on the car. Early roadsters will have the problem. Mine did - it was one of the first ones built - I had the top changed as well. All is working great - in fact it always has been. My top was changed, tires replaced and alignment fixed before I ever noticed anything was really wrong.

How did you handle the roaring tire problem. I know this is discussed in other threads but you are Canadian and we have different TSB's than the States. Did the tires roar first then you had the alignment? Was it all covered under warranty?

Thanks

It was early days for the ZR, so not sure if this will still hold true, but I said I was starting to hear the tire roar, and they were aware of the same problem with the hardtops, so they did the alignment fix.

I have also found that if you can point them to the TSB's - even the ones in the USA that helps them. It seems to take 3 -6 months for the TSB's to find their way to Canada.

With my softop I simply pointed out the new design on the new tops, and that mine had the start of pin holes, they agreed, checked with Nissan Canada, and I qualified for the new top. I found dealing with the service manager always works best.

Hope that helps.

Since this is my regular commute car, I expect the milage to keep on building up...

just hit 36,000

Avg 24mpg, avg $2.50 Per gallon = $3,750 (est) in gasoline since June '04..

15 Payments at $777 = 11,655
Insurance at $106 = $1,590
Tires (1 Set) = $550
Oil Changes (12) = $288

So far the Car has cost me = $17,833 Since June '04 or $1,188 per month...
