Default 2004 Roadster-Problems with deck lid

Shortly after I bought my Roadster I noticed the paint chipping on the
rear of the roof cover. The dealer said it was stone chips which made no sense to me. I have since noticed that when I take put up the roof I hear a click which i believe is the roof cover hitting the trunk lid.
Has anyone else had this problem and any ideas on fixing.

Not me...but it can be adjusted. I believe if you open up the top to a 90 degree, you will be able to see the adjustment points.

I spoke to dealer about the same thing. He said it was out of "adjustment" period, and wouldn't cover it.

how exactly is the adjustment done?

My dealer did the adjustment and painted it under warranty, and gave me a loaner for the 3 days it took to do the paint job right. The loaner was a Sentra POS, but it was better than nothing.

damnyankee38-if you open the trunk at the front on each side is a screw which if you play around with you can adjust how far the trunk closes down. After I few tries i got the right adjustment and now no clicking....my dealer did the same as yours and said it was out of the adjustment period. I took it right to the Nissan rep who pretty much said the same....it is a shame that a company that makes such great cars doesn;t seem to back them........

Remember NOT to open your lid in the winter. It will cause problems when it goes to close. I had a problem when I was showing off my Z in my garage in the winter and the lid FAILED to lock down.

Wait till it is warm!!

WOW, glad to find this. I had to have the top replaced IAW a TSB. When I got it back I had the problem. When the dealer looked at it they insinuated that I had replaced the trunk with an after market replacement. Now that I know there is an adjustment I can go back to the dealer with the info.

Thanks guys.
