Default Curb weight 2006 vs. 2005

Howdy,

I have the Nissan brochures here for the 2005 and the 2006 roadsters. It says that the 2005 model has a curb weight of 3225 lb, whereas the 2006 has a curb weight of 3580 lb. (Enthusiast with manual trans. both)

Can that be true? And what was changed/added in 2006 to make it so much heavier?

Thanks,
Gary

The other question is, if those numbers are correct, the 2005 model should be the quicker car, right?

11.2 lb/hp vs. 11.9 lb/hp...

Hmm...

Less tq.

Remember the old addage, HP sells cars but TQ wins races. (I think that's how it goes)

The only reason I'd be interested in the new 300hp motor is it supposedly has stronger internals. I'd love to see someone crank up the boost on one of these and push it to its limits.

I agree that tq is important. But the 2005 is rated at 274 lbft, and the 2006 at 260 lbft, both at 4800 rpm.

So the 2006 has _less_ peak tq than the 2005...

I still can't believe that the car would have gained 355 lb for 2006. Has anyone weighed their car yet?

I think 3225 is for coupes. ZR is always around 3450.
