Default Check this Roadster out, might buy it

I have a G35 Sedan 6mt right now on lease and I just don't drive it enough. Thus, I'm selling it and am thinking of buying a 350z or 350z Roadster. This Roadster is down the street from me and has the features I like. What do you think about the car and the price:

It seems a little expensive but I think there's some wiggle room there, maybe get it down to 27k flat.

Please advise.

Thanks

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really into crazy fixed up cars any more. I do appreciate them, but I've spent so much time and money on previous cars (300ZX TT, Maxima, GS-R), etc that it's just not what I'm into anymore. Mild modifications ok, but my life in heavy/major mods is over. Good luck though.

why would you put that much work into a car and then sell it?

I test drove the Roadster and it was fun as hell. It felt a little tiny bit softer than the coupe Z, but it felt just as fast.

What do you guys think?

It feels slower, just a little bit but it does. But I would think that it is at least 10 times as fun to drive as the coupe.

Edit: the price seems real high for almost 30K miles, if you get him down about 5K I would pull the trigger.

Hmm well it is convertible season, I can get it for 27k im pretty sure. Regular coupes with similar mileage, year, options are going for about 24k, so 3k premium for the drop top doesn't seem too bad. There's only two other ones in town, one is $1000 less with more miles and it's red (not for me), the other has 14k less miles and is $33k.

$27,000 is about right. I love the blue top. The interior is probably Frosted.
If they don't go for it....have patience & save up some money and buy an '06 for just under $9,000 more before taxes.

Yeah the new ones I looked at were like 37-38k with the options I wanted. The only thing it really offers is the 298hp engine instead of 287, but I'm not sure that's worth much/anything.

I think I'm sold on the Roadster, or even this one. I really like the Ray Engineering rims and although I'm not a chrome fan they look good on this application.

I haven't frequented these forums much, other than the g35 section. Is there an elitism between coupe and roadster drivers? Do the coupe drives constantly brag how their's are faster?

This one has the Rays wheels from the Track, which is a good addition. Some may/may not like the chrome look, it is after market. Pricing is all determined by supply and demand. You can chk around on the internet to see if you can find a better deal. Going to other places to see/test and shipping the car will cost a bit. If you are not in a rush, may worth shopping for a bit. Keep in mind that a 2 seat covertable is not for everyone. I love mine.

Yeah the thing is I need a dealer to execute the 3rd party lease buyout and dealers will only do that if they're selling a car so it makes my life easier in this case to find a car and sell mine at the same time. My other alternative is to pay $500 to this web service to do it but the transaction requires mailing crap back and forth.

In person the Ray's looked great and I actually like them in chrome since it fits the car well.

I definitely couldn't live with this car as my only car or if I was single. Fortunately my g/f has a Camry and I have an Explorer so I think a convertible would work well.

If you want a '06 & don't mind flying down to Nashville, TN and drive your Z home like I did in '04. Give Trent Earlie a call 1-615-248-5100 or e-mail tlearlie@hippodromecars.com ....he will pick you up at the airport. A great guy to deal with and you will get the BEST deal!!!

Thanks, but I just don't want to spend new car type of money. I figure this one has already had its main depreciation hit and the exterior/interior combo is the right one for me. It has all of the options I'd want in a new one so it only seems logical.

The range of recorded 0-60 times for the 6-sp coupe is from 5.4-5.8 seconds.
The range of recorded 0-60 times for the roadster is from 5.5-5.8 seconds. Coupe will be a bit faster at higher speeds, 1/4 mile due to less drag, but, really, both cars are equally fast.
