Default 2007 350ZR (when avail) or 2006 SLK350?

I've owned my 2004 350Z Touring Roadster since they were first available, and I'm nearing the end of my 3-year lease. While it's been a blast to drive, I find myself wanting something comperable with a little more luxury in mind.

I'm comparing performance and asthetics with my research and without fail I always end up back at the Z. I'm sure I'd get a different answer at a SLK forum, but what would you choose?

Sure the raw performance goes to the Z hands down, but the SLK is a smoother ride, and I can't get enough of the hardtop retraction with the push of the FOB.

...decisions...

Funny.....i Was Thinking The Same Thing....! Would You Actually Buy Or Lease Another Nissan Product? I Have Had Nothing But Problems With The Car And The Dealer! As Far As Performance Goes I Think You Need To Do Some Research, Youll Find The Benz Is Better In Almost Everyway, Not To Mention Resale Value And Service!

I like the benz but is it worth, for you, the extra 10-15 K?

Benz has been riddled with problems lately. I was seriously considering an SLK when I bought the Z, but read far too many complaints about it on the internet from owners. The Z gets complaints too, but far fewer. Do some research on what owners are saying before plunging.

If you are leasing the MBZ for three years then at least when you have problems they will give you a nice ride. I remember when I had my three series - when I took it in for an oil change I would end up getting a loaner worth at least twice as much.

The only think I don't like about the SLK is the lack of a manual tranny and the fact that its small (like miata sized).

I agree with the benz if you want more luxury, and especially if it's another lease. If there are problems, you can get a loaner during the maintenance.

I would also consider the 2007 BMW 3 series hardtop convertible. Luxury, hardtop, extra back seat, and I'm guessing it should be peppy as well. I mean, it is the ultimate driving machine after all.

No offense here, but having EVERY WORD capitalized makes it hard to read.

I drove the Mercedes before I bought my 2005 Z Roadater a year ago.

It was too small inside the cabin, not as fun to drive and WAY, Way too overpriced!!!!

I was considering the SLK too, but figured the 350ZR was more practical (not to mention more affordable)
BUT, on the other hand, you've had a z for 3 years, I would probably want a change

The SLK 350 is pretty quick though. It does a 5.2 0-60, Im sure it would compete with a Z pretty nicely.
