I own a 2005 Z Roadster.

My girlfriend wanted to buy a 2006 Infinity FX35, so we went to the Infinity dealer and when we began to negotiate, I started out by telling the Sales manager exactly how much (in relation to invoice) I paid for my 2005 Z Roadster and said we expected to pay the same with respect to the FX35, which is basically also a Nissan product.

He said that the FX35 an "in demand" vehicle and that the Z Roadster wasn't and blah, blah, blah blah blah. I literally began to chuckle in his face when he said that.

I'm in sales myself and all I could think to myself was - What kind of an a$$ would start out negotiating by literally bad mouthing someones car?

The FX35 a more in demand car than a Z Roadster??? I'm not sure what part of his a$$ he pulled this data from.

Botton line...... we got the FX35 for basically the same price, with respect to invoice, as I bought my Z Roadster.

So much for what is "in demand" and what isn't.

 

I would've gotten up after telling him he sucks at life and then asked to talk to his manager.

 

I wanted to say, "Ohhhh PULLLLEEEASE, can't you come up with something better than that?

 

Curious what model and how much did you end up buying it for?

I just bought a 06 FX35 RWD with the Touring, Sport and Tech Packages couple weeks ago, they knocked off $4600 from MRSP. Not sure how close to invoice that is tho...
