I hate convertibles...not manly enough. Very good trade though.

OMFG I love that car!

So ummm....If you ever come to the conclusion that you may have made that move out of haste and want to come back to the Z world...I SUPPOSE I could do an even trade for my 06 Black Pearl 350ZR...just depends on how I'm feeling that day.

Let me know.

Great upgrade! I'm one of the first ZR owners too. So far so good (other than the top replacement). Viper looks like a good way to go.

Very nice! I'm sure it's a totally different driving experience from the Z.

Any pics with the top down?

Thanks everyone for all of your positive comments. I will always love 350Zs, by the way, but it's nice to try something different.

Ok, here are some answers to some of the questions I've been receiving. Pics with the top down...

As for the suggested mods, I probably will tint and add a clear bra. I really need the tint because the sun visors in Vipers can't be unhinged and moved to the left or right, so there's no way to block the sun from the driver and passenger windows. Not sure why it's designed that way, but I need a way to block the sun here in Florida. I'll also tint because people have actually been taking pictures of me at stoplights with their camera phones. Well, maybe their taking pictures of the car, but either way, the tint is probably a good idea.

My only real gripe is the gas mileage. Window sticker says 12 city and 20 highway, but I'm getting like 9 mpg on a good day. Another Viper owner told me to expect to average 150 miles on a tank of gas. I read in the manual that they recommend shifting from 1st to 4th to conserve gas during normal driving since the car can go to 60mph in 1st. I also have to get used to not being able to put the top down with the push of a button like on the Z. The top is manual, unfortunately.

So far, the car has been awesome. The acceleration is ungodly (0-60 in 3.9 seconds) and handling is slot-car quick. The 500 watt stereo is unreal too. Bass from the center-mounted subwoofer is crazy. Another cool thing is suddenly everyone wants to let me merge in front of them in traffic so they can get a better view of the car.

Gorgeous car, man! I've always wondered why the shifter stalk is so long - is there a short-throw mod available, or is it okay the way it is?

Thanks. The shifter stalk is pretty long. Not sure if there's a short-throw mod, but that's a good idea. I'm going to check into it.

They gave me $24K on my 2004 350ZR trade (my car had 33K miles). The Viper was $69,995 (with only 220 miles). You can find a lot of new 2006 Vipers on Autotrader for around the same price (coupes and convertibles). Insurance only increased by $150 per year.

I'll post some pics after I get the clear bra. I just ordered it on Saturday from InvisibleMask.com.
