Default WHY is there no glovebox???

I recently had a bluetooth added into my 2006 350z roadster and he pulledout the area where there should be a glove box. now i thought that there was somthing there or no space to put a glove box due to air ducts or something....but there was nothing...they could easily put a glove box there???is there any reason that any of u guys know why there isnt one???
confusing to me...its not like the roadster has heaps of space every bit helps!

Instead of a glove box we get that immensely useful little wee card holder.

Isn't this where the passenger air bag is? Yeah its fustrating, it would be nice to have a place to put the owner's manual binder within easy reach.

I think the Z doesn't have a normal front glove box is because Nissan designed the coupe and the roadster at the same time. Many, not all, convertables do not have gloves. Instead they have storage compartments behind the seats. I think this is also the reason why the 03-04s had that retarded AC plug in the rear between the seats.

Let's see. You have:
map pockets on the outside of each seat,
the flip lid place in front(if no Nav),
the console slider compartment,
console flip up compartment,
the storage net on the tranny hump passenger side('06),
the 2 smaller door covered compartments in back(1 if with Nav),
the main storage box behind passenger seat(accessible by flippin the seat release on back of passenger seat),
the sunglass compartment,
a storage tray in each door, and
there is an optional passenger seat back storage accessory that will hold more than I want to put in it.
That's 12 places apart from seatback storage, all, except passenger door tray and passenger map tray, accessible from the drivers seat.
What is it you wanted to put in a front glove box where the air bag is? We should count our blessings.
