Default Top not closing...

This being my first post on my350z I wanted to say hello to everybody. I have a daytona blue 2004 Nissan 350z roadster. I received the car about a little over a month ago and overall I'm very satisfied with my car; however, as of today I've been having a problem with top closing. I'm trying to wash and wax my car but when I try and close the top the back part of the car lifts up, but when the hydraulic lifts should start rising to move the top over the car, the entire thing just stops. Any ideas? and thanks for the help.

well i'm not sure if it was the cleaning supplies not letting the seat move forward or if the problem just fixed itself but my top is now closing. has anybody else had this problem before?

Your foot is firmly on the brake pedal and it the pedal is fully depressed, right?

. . . and you always wait for the open/close cycles to completely finish themselves before releasing the button, right?

There are no hydraulic parts in the roof system, only mechanical with electric motor.

The cover must open fully, in order to activate the end switch (microswitch), only when this switch is activated the next process will start (lifting the roof).
Also possible that the seat back tilt process as been disturbed, does the seat back move with the switch on the seat ?

everything is fine now and my top is going up and down fine now. I think the cleaning supplies for my car were disrupting the seat from moving up as much as it needed (as mang said).
