Default TOP have problem

i have tried search but i didnt get a answer from it so
i will post it up here help me out please.

i just got my 04 ZR two weeks ago
and it is cold as anything in PA these days,
so i didnt get a chance to put my top down.

couple days ago, i put my top down and top doesnt go in all the way.
the top will fold but it doesnt fold enough to shut the top cover.
and i notice that top was kind of wet from the weather,
if top isnt perfectly dry than, top doesnt fold? or is there a problem with my car...

I don't really follow what you are saying. Regardless you shouldn't put the top down when its cold or wet. Cold will keep it from functioning properly. Wet will cause mildew.

Try parking the car in a heated garage overnight and then try.

I doubt the wet/dry issue has anything to do with your problem. It can be a variety of things:
  1. The owner's manual says not to lower the top when the temp is lower than, I believe, 45 degrees fahrenheit. I think this is due to the top material becoming less flexible and unable to compress sufficiently to completely lower into the top compartment. Consequently the tonneau cover cannot latch and lock.
  2. The tonneau motor is not operating properly.
  3. The tonneau cover guides need to be adjusted.
  4. The tonneau lock/latches need to be repaired/replaced.
When my 04.5 ZR had the same problem the technician thought it was #3, but it turned out it was #4 and had to replace the locks....this after 4 visits to the service department (it was repaired under warranty).

Good luck.
