you seem responsible enough, im sure you can make this decision on your own too, cause ultimatly comes down to what you want i mean obviously both are good cars and obviously bmw going to cost more to fix. drive them do you fit in the Z3? your asking which on a Z forum when in reality you should be searching this forum and finding out about Z's to further educate yourself in YOUR decision

NOOB -Considering two types of Z cars
I just traded my pretty 01 Daktar Yellow 2.5 Z3 in on a 07 Silver 350Z and I am very happy. The z3 got many compliments and it was fun to drive for a while. Then I started having reoccuring problems that the specialist couldn't nail down. I couldn't rely on the car even though it was only an occasionaL driver. I then began to realize it wasn't as fun to drive as I thought. The cockpit is cramped, stark, basic controls and the top is a pure pia. If it starts to rain, you must remove the boot, partilly raise the top, remove the window protector then put the top up. The car alsao has a very stiff ride and was difficult to achieve a smooth shift through all gears. Mine wasn't the big engine and although I like power I don't need or use it. My 350Z is an automatic and I am extremely happy and much prefer the car over the BMW. The BMW z's have really dropped in value and you can get them cheap although the m commands a much better price many of them have been driven hard and the engine can be problematic. Now the Z4 is much closer to the 350Z but I don't like the handling or ride of them. I think the 350Z or 370Z is the ideal, reasonably priced roadster.
