Question Buy or Lease?

Can peeps post if they bought or leased and why? I am ordering a lemans sunset touring ZR, probably this week. I can't decide whether to lease, with the lower payments, versus buy, with the option to customize. I figure I could think about negotiating a purchase at the end of the lease, and maybe go to town on it after a few years have passed. Any thoughts?

btw, if I lease I'll get the orange seats with the mesh backs, and the 18 in wheels.

The way I see it, it all comes down to how long you normally keep or plan to keep this vehicle. If you are some one who likes to get a new car every few years leasing may be more advantageous. If you are a keeper than buying would be the way to go. Your thoughts about leasing then buying the car at the end of the lease may or may not work for you financially. The key is the residual put on the car(value of the car at end of lease term) this will determine the buy out price. You can have them work the numbers for you with both ways. Buying, or leasing than buying at end of term. Typically it works out better for you to buy in the first place. Make sure they work the numbers for you with all of the exact same variables so you can get an accurate picture.
good luck.

I don't keep cars longer than 3-4 years so I lease. It's better than trying to trade while being upside down.

The Buyback after four years was 54% and although I'm sure the Roadster will keep it's value, I don't think it will keep THAT much. I plan to keep the car so buying new is usually the way I go.

Buy if....

You're going to buy a new car after 3-4 years
You want to mod the hell out of your car
You drive more than 20k miles per year
Monthly payments are not a big concern (with little down)

Lease if...

None of the above is true
