Is it easier for the roadster interior to get cold during the winter months? I was thinking about it yesterday, that there is only a piece of cloth sperating the driver from the cold weather. Even so, i bet its worth it once the summer months come!

 

I don't intend to drive my roadster during the winter.
Most Ragtops aren't really that great in the winter (in terms of warmth) except for Porsches where they actually test them up North. There's some pretty cool pics of ragtop 944's in the snow..

 

Take a look around ya. There is not a lot of space to heat. It is already in the low 20's around here at night. The inside of the car feels very warm, I have it set at 75 and actually have to start turning it down once the car warms up.

I go out in the morning to start my car to warm it up, turn on the heated seats, go back in the house, come back out 5 minutes later and settle into heaven.

Once winter is in full force, I do not plan on driving my Roadster either. I had a 2003 touring coupe w / VDC and that was nice. The car w/o VDC is a little scarry for me. It's fairly easy to get the rear end to break loose.

 

I moved from Dallas to North Carolina in the mountains, so I expect snow and traction problems. So, I bought a 4 wheel drive Toyota Tacoma, this also answers all questions about not having enough room! In bad weather I will be in the pickup.

I have had the car in 40 degree weather with the top down, heat on, and seats on low (haven't needed high yet), and the windows uo, that worked very well. So yes, you can get down pretty low with the top down, even lower with the top up, but I'm not going to chance any bad driving conditions with the Z.

Do expect to see me on a cold clear day in the Z though, it is WAY too much fun than letting it sit in the garage all winter!
