I think the fact that you have a roadster in Oregon is the reason your not in love with it. Luckily I have a work vehicle, so I only take my roadster out of the garage when the sun is out and I can have the top down. Dont mind the look of it with the top up, but the hardtop Z looks much cleaner, no doubt about it.

I live in Maryland, so my Z remains in hibernation all winter. Love how the roadster looks with the top down on a sunny day.

I would never purchase a small car the can't pop the top. I also wouldn't live somewhere that rains and snows most of the year. Keep the Roadster, ditch Oregon.
I wish the 350 kept the T-tops like the 300.

Let's dispel the myth that it always rains in Oregon. You're thinking of Seattle.

Oregon has amazing, mild summers and the real rain comes in winter INSTEAD of snow.

If you live west of Portland (not in one of the rainy, mountainous microclimates) like I did, there are fewer places better for a roadster. I used to drive the 2 hours to the beach in heaven the whole way. Or down the 101 toward NorCal. The winding mountain roads in the gorge were fantastic, too.

It's being here in INDY with a roadster that sucks. Impossible to drive for most of winter and 110 in the shade and humid in the summer.

I'm on the northside Castleton/Fishers area and I've never really minded it. True the humidity gets a little unreal (Im a Denver native so humidity at all is hell), but I get more than enough top down time and love it. Top down sliding in and out of traffic around 465, or down Meridian in Broad Ripple is a hobby of mine.

it rains like hella over here man, and if it doesnt rain it is still like a good 40-50 degrees and with a chance of rain. it didnt snow for like 10 years im not gonna lie but the past few years the snow has been picking up. its not like a ton of snow but its still snow. today on march 6 of 2012 i woke up to snow.... its now 37 right now and sunny, oregon is just to bipolar too.
how long ago did you live in portland?
i live in northwest portland a good 2 hours from the beach too.

73 dergrees and partly cloudy here in Houston. We had a record drought last year in Texas so not much rain. I've grown to love cruzin with the top down at night as well. The top is open more than closed. Pass through a tunnel or under a freeway with the top down, rev the exhaust....man.

I would never buy a convertible as my first or only car.
I would never buy a hardtop as my second car.
My top almost never goes up and my 350zr is parked in my garage.

I am loving this! I have a black ZR, and yours is BADAZZ!!!! Got a question, do you still have your convertible, its just down and the hardtop is an Add on? What Im thinking is during the cold months where you know your going to keep the top up this would be AWESOME! The during the summer just use your vert part....is that how it works? Once again GREAT looking hardtop (on Black)!

Yes - that is how it works. You put the soft top down and slap the hard top on.

I'm just used to driving the Z through the woods in 70 degree temps. Indy is less pleasant in that regard. I immediately noticed how horrible the air quality is here near downtown as well.

Does the Z have a cabin filter? *cough*

I definitely agree with it looks better with the top down but i definitely do not regret it at all. I have a VS 3 kit on it and it looks pretty good with the top up as well, havn't even got to aggressive rims and tire setup yet. I will take some pictures and post them maybe it might be a direction that will help your cause.

Hard tops are great, but I don't have the patience for a removable one. I'd love a hardtop convertible with an automatic roof, but I wonder what that would have done to the price of the Z.

I always wanted a convertible and after window shopping for 2 years I settled on the ZR.
I live outside of Philadelphia PA so I get plenty of top down time come spring etc. It is strictly my toy car which I drive on weekends mostly. That being said, I absolutely love the car for lots of reasons. You don't see that many on the road, and even though mine is an 06, it still turns heads. Finally, it's a great escape when I want to just disappear for a few hours. It's a great car.
