Default Top Problems need some help!

Day 3 of my 05 ZR and I'm loving it! buuuuut I seem to be having a problem with my top. I was going to close it and all was going fine until the part with the glass, I could not get it to go down whatsoever and i was not able to get the top to reopen. I've done a lot of reading and from what I've seen is that it is the 5th bow motor. I'm planning on trying to fix the motor (read the write up and am ordering the brushes) but wanted to make sure that this was in fact the problem beforehand. I was also wondering since this is such a common problem is there a way to beef up the little motor? Is there another motor made that doesn't have this problem or are we just cured with it?

I was able to get it closed this much so i could see out of the back glass to drive home, but i don't want to push on it to try to get it to lock into place. you cant really see too well but its about an inch or so away from the top right before it latches down.

Give this a shot before opening or closing the top, have your parking lights on. See if their is a difference.

Might seem like a dumb question, but are you saying it gets more power to the motor say if the car is on or something, or lights on. I wish I could find a way to beef up that motor

most likely is one of bow motor. never heard of getting more power to the motor, the only thing I can think of is straight power battery to the motor, by pass the fuse.
